Big Al’s Blog: GOING AWAY party
Big Al’s Blog: GOING AWAY party

I guess we will call Saturday night the GOING AWAY party for my girlfriend.

We got a few friends together and did a Suit and Tie bar hop. I don’t know if there is such a thing but we did it. My girlfriend LOVES getting all dressed up. I guess lots of girls do. Even though that is one of the things she loves to do, we really don’t do it very much. So, I thought it would be nice if her closest friends got together to celebrate with her. We all dressed up in our After 5 wear and off we went.

We gathered there and even though she knew we were getting all dressed up, she didn’t know what we were all doing. One of the ladies in the group made goodie bags for all of the guests. It was really cool seeing her with all of her closest friends and co-workers. The next stop was the bar at a place called the Mansion. Our party bus was pulling us to the front door of every location. We got appetizers there and had some drinks. Then, as we went outside to take a group pic, I saw this awesome plate that had some awesome french fries on it and I grabbed one. But I did ask “Charlotte”, the 7-year-old little girl that the fries belonged to. She said it was ok if I took one and I told her I would say her name on the radio. Hi Charlotte! Then, we were off to the next stop. This place caller SER was on the 27th floor of a hotel. The view was awesome and they had a piano player that was pretty great too. And when he started singing Purple Rain, Yes, I had to join him at the Piano! We all were having a great time. Then, we headed to the last stop. By this time, everyone was “feeling good.” So, I guess that’s why they didn’t let us in. We were standing at the Host Stand waiting to load into the elevator. This bar is 50 floors up in sky but we never made it. They said they were already full but we have a feeling that our loud talking and “First impression of FUN” was more of the reason that they didn’t allow us to come in. So, I made an announcement to the group: “Guess what guys, I OWN A BAR!” SO, we took the party to my place.

Even though this was not the way that we had planned to end the party, it was a GREAT TIME! And my girlfriend had a great time. She cried here and there but she seemed to really enjoy herself.
