Big Al’s Blog: My daddy didn’t raise a quitter!

There has to be something that I’m just not doing right. Planning a big Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament is not an easy job. There’s lots of moving parts to this thing. But aside from all of the planning, the biggest thing is just getting people interested in the event and supporting it. It seemed like such a great idea, right? Well, I think it is…What is a Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament?

dog-in-constructionIt’s just like it sounds. Teams compete against one another to play. It’s the best out of 11 in a series of games. If you win, you move on to the next round, if your team loses, you are out. And it benefits one of two charities that I have selected, either Habitat for Humanity or the Humane Society. These events have been on the books for weeks and the show will go on! But we will move forward despite the slow start. I have had events that were less than a sell-out before. Let this be a lesson to you people, just because your event costs Thousands of dollars to put on, that doesn’t mean that it won’t cost you even more before it’s all said and done! That’s a great lesson for all of the future business people out there, isn’t it? Hey, if it was easy, everybody would do it, right? Never give up…There, that’s a much better lesson. No, but if you are in the West Texas area, feel free to come on by and participate, PLEASE! It’s at the South Plains Mall in Lubbock this Saturday. Either way, my daddy didn’t raise a quitter!
