Big Al’s Blog: No Time to Waste

My girlfriend came in a little earlier than planned. So we hung out Friday night at the bar for a little while but since she was a little tired from her day, we called it a somewhat early night. She did get to say hi to a few of the friends from here and the weekend was off to a great start.

Saturday morning we started off early by driving 30 miles to go to a store to get her some cowboy boots. She had a gift card that she needed to use so she ended up buying Red boots made from Stingray. Who knew? It was great riding around and spending time with her. We got to talk and hold hands enjoy each others company. Then, it was time to make a plan. She wanted to get a Mani-Pedi and while she did that, I got a shave.

There was a party at the bar that ended up being more than twice as many people that we expected. That’s a good thing…but we didn’t have the staff in place to take proper care of them so I ended up working for a while and we missed going to brunch like we had planned. I was bussing tables and delivering food to people which is normal. But the difference was that my girlfriend was here. But, we made it through.

That night, It was dinner and the Dierks Bentley Concert. She had a great night and it was a lot of fun.

I love quick weekends like this because you are busy having fun and there is no time to waste. And just like that, It was time for her to get ready to go back. We had brunch Sunday morning and hung out for a little and then, it was time to say bye. I drove her to the airport and it was hard to say bye all over again. I guess that part will never change. I hate seeing her cry. I have to admit, I cried a little too. Now it’s time to start planning the next visit.
