Is that how you feel? If so, you're story could provide a lot of motivation for those who may not feel the same way, YET.
So why not write us about your experience and tell us why EXACTLY getting laid off is a great moment in your life.
The best responses will be featured on air with Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. Just make sure it's about YOU and that it has happened in the past six months!
I have been working for the past two years as the Corporate Marketing Coordinator of a family owned Healthcare Management and Consulting Company. By being family owned, I mean my direct family. I knew the company was in bad shape, and that they were having to lay off over 100 employees...but I definitely wasn't expecting an email from my own uncle letting me know that I was being laid off too and that my last day would be this Friday. There is obvious family tension between everyone and has gotten pretty bad.
I am originally from Dallas but my entire family has slowly moved to Tulsa for this company, and now the family and company is all in disarray. The past few days have been extremely hard but I am coming to realize this could be the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and honestly to my family. I have seen a tremendous growth in the relationship of my parents as they have never struggled in my life and are now having to pull together and realize what is important. I miss Dallas so much, and it is looking like I am going to get back home to the big D where I belong. I have also always wanted to go on a mission trip and serve somewhere in another country... and what other time in my life will I be single, no job, and be able to do something great like this!
Jobs will come and go. I am trying to take advantage of the time that was suddenly put in front of me, and am loving watching my immediate family grow closer and realize what is important in life.
