The Good Stuff:
× Making the full shows available and cutting them up into smaller segments.
× The highlights (descriptions) being listed underneath each hour of show.
The Bad Stuff:
× We can't pause, rewind, or fast forward while listening through the browser.
× We can't automatically jump to the highlights of the show.
× We can't access older shows without manually typing in URLs.
× We have to listen to commercials, breaks, and local stuff like weather and news.
× There are still errors occurring with Firefox and Safari. There's no Mac compatibility? Who did usability testing?
× The player is glitchy and occasionally stops in the middle of a clip.
× Listeners had no input on the change and are not receiving any feedback with regard to their complaints.
Since i'm either working or at school during the live show, I primarily listen through the KPod. Although putting up the full episodes was a good idea, I don't think the switch was thought through. You could have spent a little more time on it and released something great. I hope the show doesn't lose listeners as a result of the change, but it's bound to happen if they're ignored.
I seriously think that I am about to start the email war on them. My week has been ruined. However, Ryan there is no way that they can't react to your thread honey. So bright and colorful!
Is it too much to ask for a pause button? I mean seriously.
True. I actually think that staff cuts might be a factor in this change. With less staff they are probably trying to look for ways to "save time." Unfortunately, seeing as how listeners keep the show in business, it would be in their best interest to make us a little happier.
Really?! Actually, that's not such a far-off idea. We could probably get a group together to slice up mp3s (an hour or two each) daily .. I wonder if they would ever let us do that.
Yeah, I certainly expect more from KKITM. As a top station, they should have at least asked for suggestions from the listeners before making such a drastic change that affects so many of us. I'd just like a response from the web team with plans on anticipated changes to the interface and to make a few immediate fixes, unless they have no plan to change anything. =/
