J-Si’s Blog: Most. Random. Day. Ever!

Do you ever have one of those days, where you ask yourself: what just happened? We had an event yesterday, so I got home later than usual. I had been in touch with Kinsey here and there, but when I got home she said, “I think I’m going to sell my car.” Sure, why not? If she feels like she wants to sell her car, sell the car. I went to the bedroom to lay down for a bit, because I have been trying to catch up on sleep after the crazy traveling weekend I just had. I took a nap for an hour and a half, I wake up, walk out to the kitchen, and Kinsey says, “sold my car!” It took me a moment to process this. Kinsey posted her car on the neighborhood group page, and it sold within minutes. In fact, it got competitive. She was actually relieved it sold because about 15 people had asked to stop by our house on Saturday to take a look at it, but one lady said she would buy it flat-out. Again, this was all done on FACEBOOK! How nuts is this? I remember when selling a car was a whoopin. You place an add on Craigslist, and wait, and wait, and wait. Pretty sure it took weeks sometimes. Now, you just say “I think I want to sell it, place a picture or two on Facebook, and boom!”

About an hour later, the girl was at our house with a cashiers check, and the car was gone. The girl actually ended up being from San Diego too! She knew some of the same people we know. Small world. As she was driving away in Kinsey old car, Kinsey stood in the window and cried. haha. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “I didn’t know I was going to react like this… that was the car we brought Cason and Chloe home in. I have so many cute memories in there.”

jsi-blog-pic-020615Everything was going great until the footgate mystery happened. I was on the couch watching Mickey with Cason, Kinsey was in the kitchen cooking dinner, Chloe was in her high chair in the kitchen eating some veggies while watching Kinsey make dinner. No biggie. Chloe started acting like she wanted to get down and come hang with the boys, so she took her out of her chair, put her on the ground, like normal, and she screamed bloody murder while holding her lil foot up. We have no idea what happened. So I take her in the bedroom, take her socks off and notice that her foot is bruised and tender to the touch. So we took her to the emergency doc in a box. We got an X-Ray, they tried to get her to walk, the touched, and did some test. Luckily the X-Ray came back negative, so they said she has a pretty good sprain. But we will have to keep an eye on it, and see if it gets better. If not, we will have to go back and get another round of X-Rays. I guess sometimes small fractures don’t show up right away. They will also have a doc take a look at her today to make sure there is no structural damage with her mystery foot injury. So keep your fingers crossed for us.

But, the good news is, we saved a lot of money on car insurance… since we dont have one 🙂 So there’s that.
