Why does it seem that there exist people who are arrogant enough to think that terrible things could never befall them? Who are we as a nation to believe that violence in the streets is something that occurs in third wolrd countries. Why would we be so bold as to condemn people who struggle daily with drugs/alcohol and/or poverty? Abuse seems to find certain people and stay around like a bad rash. Over my life time I have had my share. As a child I was molested by an uncle and called a liar by my grandmother.
