An office manager embezzled $435,837 from Big Brothers Big Sisters of... during the past year, the organization alleged in a lawsuit filed Monday.
...hired in May 2008, forged two board members' signatures on at least 140 checks.
The amount taken represents about a third of the organization's annual budget of $1.3 million, and it has placed the agency in a bad situation...
"We've got to get some money in here or we're going to have to turn out the lights," he said.
I know times are tough for everyone right now, but if you'd be willing to donate some money, please contact me and I can get you the information to do so. I currently have a little brother through the program and would hate for them to close their doors. Even if it does come to that, I hope that I am able to continue being a big brother without the program.

Comment by Heather ♥ on November 9, 2009 at 4:12pm - ugh...so sad....that would be terrible if a program that offered so much hope to children had to shut down....i'll donate as soon as i am able to do so....and will keep my fingers crossed that this program will be able to continue on...i have much respect for you for being involved in such a great thing!
