When I woke up this morning from my night’s sleep on the couch, my first thought was the same as my final thought last night. wow, what a boring night I had! From the time that I came home from work, until the time I woke up this morning, I didn’t leave the house. It was partly because I have somehow managed to go somewhere and do something for the past 7 nights in a row. So I decided (by default) to lay low. I was online, I was texting, I was facebooking, but I never left the house. I guess this can be good for the soul but its not very good for content for the radio. I just didn’t have the energy, or the desire to leave my house. No human interaction for 16 hours. so this morning I am getting on the elevator to walk my dogs at 3:50 or so and the doors open and there’s a dude sprawled out on the floor of the elevator. I think it made me like hollar a little. Im not really a screamer but it just caught me off guard a little. I mean its not even 4am, I haven’t seen or talked verbally to any human being, except my dad on the phone for like 2 minutes at like 4pm Wednesday and the first person I see appeared to be dead. Im thinking has someone taken hostages in our building and this dude made a break for it? has someone released poison gasses (like on 24) and and this dude inhaled them and im going to be the next victim? Did a robber come in and jack this dude in the elevator and leave him for dead? NOPE, HE WAS JUST DRUNK! He started snoring… LOUDLY! I took my two dogs back to my apartment and grabbed my tape recorder. I went back to the elevator and he was still there. I didn’t say anything to him. I got my dogs on the elevator, we made our way around him pushed 7 which is the flor the dog walking area is on. I walked the dogs to do their business. We came back, I pushed the button, the elevator doors opened and there he was again. I nudged him. I gently kicked him in the butt and after about 5 long minutes he woke up. after 5 more minutes, he got to his feet and he somehow managed to say he needed to go to the 16th floor. But he had no key. I took him to the concierge and left him there. I think they called him a cab.
All of this happened before 4:15 this morning!
Hows you’re morning going?
