I kept thinking all day that Wednesday was Tuesday, which threw me off a bit. Right after work, I tore out to do a little boutique run and hopefully find something cute to wear Saturday night. Wow. Ten pounds really does make a huge difference. I'll never say it's "only" 10 pounds again. So! Since nothing cute fit, I bought jewelry. A bracelet, a pair of earrings and three rings. I also bought something called "Stiffs" -- you put them in the hem of your pants to keep them from slipping between your foot and your open-back shoe. Can't wait to see if they work.

After that, I ran over to see Haven, who wasn't in Auntie Crazy mode. She was having a bad lupus day, so we went to lunch and she got to watch me eat. She tried to eat some soup, but it wasn't happening. The waiter felt bad for her and made her some chamomile tea with honey. So as I was driving her back to her office, I got a phone call that absolutely made my day. My trainer canceled!! YEA!!! Now if I'd done that to him 2 hours before he was scheduled to show up, I'd be expected to pay for that session, right? But I wasn't worried about principles at that point. I was FREE!! So I went home, put on my scruffiest sweats and those awful sleep socks you can never wear in front of a man and curled up in bed for a 10 minute nap -- It was all I could squeeze in before Miss Priss got home with Nanny Laura.

I spent the afternoon trying to teach her Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. She doesn't get it. She wants to take her turn and MY turn. And she's more interested in talking to the little pawns and making sure they all have names right now.

Making major breakthroughs with my new parakeet that I've renamed Petey. I've been giving him treats and he's actually looking a little chubby! And I put my hand in his cage today and he let me rub his belly and his back and he didn't try to bite me! That was HUGE. And Nanny Laura says she also heard him singing a bit today. I REALLY didn't want a stinking bird, but I'm happy that he seems to be happy now. Maybe I'm the Bird Whisperer and didn't even know it.

XO
Kellie

I inhereited 2 parakeets when I got married...they took some getting used to especially the "singing" at the butt crack of dawn...they are now trained to our sleeping schedule (well mine...lol) and only start chirping when I get up...they love me!!
