Lay-offs Hit Kidd Kraddick in the Morning
Hi you guys. Sorry for the delay in getting you the news. It's been a tough day. Yes, it's true. Dianthe and Andrew are no longer with the show. Their positions (both full-time) were eliminated in a budget cut due to a major slowdown in advertising revenue across our industry. We've been really lucky because we've never had to do this before. Times are different now and we're all dealing with it.
Dianthe has been with us since 2002. We hired her as a phone screener after she won our first radio-reality contest, Kidd's Krib. As I told her today, she's like my family and I love her, as well as her husband Kelly and her baby Sydney. I told her today that just last summer I was so excited that she was coming back after maternity leave. It's hard to see her go. I don't think I ever missed a day of the re-mix. Many times it cracked me up more than the actual show. As you would expect, she was sad about leaving but expressed to me that she totally understood. She said she's excited about writing and other things she's wanted to include in her way-too-busy life. Dianthe's said many times (including today) that she wasn't working because she needed the income, but because she just loved being part of our show. I don't think you'll ever meet someone who loves the show more than she does. I would love to work with her again and I miss her already. I know you guys will miss her too and I hope you'll reach out and wish her the best.
Andrew's position was also eliminated. In this economy, we simply can't have the luxury of a full-time video producer. Andrew is a truly unique person (What are you TALKING about?) and we will all miss him. I will never forget last year's "video Valentine's date" when Andrew took his laptop out to dinner and then danced with it. (Skype rules.) And who could ever forget the night he and I hung out and walked the tab at a restaurant and then robbed a CVS. Good times. I hope you'll reach out to him as well.
Sometimes it's hard to read the messages on here but I always do anyway. I love hanging out with you all on kiddnation. Just know that you guys are the reason we do this and more importantly, the reason we are ABLE to do this. Thanks for being our biggest supporters.

- i like to see this in a different angle and i want to commend you, kidd, that not only did you see that there was a problem with the show's finances and ultimately future, but that you had the foresight, courage and even strength to be able to make that extremely hard decision and then go thru with it. that is why you guys are so loved and one of the best shows that helps and blesses thousands of human lives. both Andrew and Dianthe are too talented to not blow the socks off of another place they go to.

- DANG! Dianthe was my favorite, I mean I love all of you guys but Dianthe consistently made me laugh. I'm so hopeful that things will turn around rather quickly and she will come back into our lives. Please keep us up-to-date regarding what she's doing. I miss, miss, miss her.
