I was going to attempt returning boots without a receipt today, but the weather prevented me from trying. I'd rather do something like that when it's brisk and sunny. It makes me feel more optimistic. So I'm hoping for clear skies tomorrow. Instead, I came home to my yummy daughter, who was ready and waiting to jump me and smother me with loads of hugs and kisses. Then it was nap time for her and and endless series of cellphone calls for me. So much for trying to grab a nap of my own.

I felt so ashamed when I saw Emma Kelly's closet today. Nanny Laura had completely cleaned out and reorganized it. She couldn't stand the mess another minute. But it hadn't really bothered me so much....which is another sign that I'm a horrible parent. She even went out and bought all these organizational bins to sort EK's toys. Way to rub it in, Laura!!

And now -- one week and one day later -- EK's birthday celebration is officially OVER. Auntie Crazy came over tonight to bombard her with presents -- lots of Dora the Explorer books and videos and dolls, plus the Snow White DVD and doll and a Barbie guitar. It was too much, as usual, but that's why we call her Auntie Crazy. I guess I sorta had an Auntie Crazy, but she was my crazy Aunt Lacy who was rich and lived in seclusion in the woods surrounded by her carefully restored antique merry-go-round horses all over her house. She kept flying monkeys for pets and even had one of those Marmaduke dogs. She loved Tom Jones and believed my dead Granddaddy Rasberry haunted her house because she would wore his pajamas to bed. She also believed she was the madam of a bordello in her previous life because she really, really liked red lamp shades with fringe. She didn't indulge me with presents. She was just crazy. And everybody needs an Auntie Crazy.

XO
Kellie

Kellie don't be hard on your self you are not a bad parent. i went thru the same thing the girl that works for me organized all drawers and closet stuff and even the bath room. she said it was easier for her as she put things up, so i take it with such joy that i have someone to help me like this, and i think we all have a aunt crazy!
