I wish I could say I went to NYC and took the city by storm with a big "F-- you!" to Vancouver and Russell and all things British, Canadian and British-Canadian. But! I can't really say that...Haven tried to be bubbly enough for the both of us and she came pretty close. But I think by the end of our 4-day weekend, she was pretty much over trying to be my one-woman cheering section.

We did most of our travel by bike taxi and that was sometimes life-threatening -- especially when we were trying to leave the fireworks display and get down to Times Square. NOT a great idea and YES, it was mine. The crowds were so bad, rather than force our way through, we just dived into Bubba Gump's for some authentic NY cuisine...Oh well...

Haven was in a shopping frenzy and I just wasn't, so she was quite content when I left her in Top Shop and I headed back to the hotel to finish off the second book in the Twilight series. The whole time I'm reading the darned thing, all I can picture is Sexy Jack as Edward Cullen. It's driving me crazy nuts!!!

The highlight of our trip was seeing "Rock of Ages" on Broadway. Despite Constantine, I LOVED it! I've got to learn to give that boy a break....But I'm not the only one. When we all sat down, the lady next to me was even hoping Constantine was out sick and his stand-in was taking his place. Have to make a point to do more Broadway and less shopping on my next NYC weekend....

Came home to spend the week with my mother and my daughter. My brother had a big birthday this week, so Mama and I offered to keep their four kids for a sleep-over at my house so they could go out on the town. During that sleep-over, Mama became deathly ill. So I was tending my sick mother while trying to keep 5 kids entertained and away from her. She was literally in bed all day long. Even water made her throw up. She finally felt well enough this morning to get up and move to the recliner and she managed to keep down a little chicken soup. I'm just praying I don't get it because I'd have to go to work Monday with or without it and I'd hate to do the show with my head hanging over a trash can. But it's not like I haven't done that before.....

I wish I had tales of unexpected romance and crazy adventures! Perhaps now that I'm back to work with Sexy Jack....

So glad to be back to work tomorrow and back in the swing of things! Missed you much!!

XO
Kellie
