Weekend box office news… HBO Go and HBO Now crashed during “Game of Thrones”… OJ Simpson’s parole hearing on TV… Justin Bieber busted by by Beverly Hills police… and Aaron Carter and girlfriend arrested for DUI

The final installment in the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy and it $56.5 million take knocked “Spider-Man: Homecoming” out of the top spot this weekend. “Spider-Man” dropped to second with $45.2 million. Coming in third was “Despicable Me 3,” followed by “Baby Driver” and “The Big Sick.”

If you were live streaming HBO’s “Game of Thrones” season seven premiere last night, you may have experienced levels of anger you never knew existed. Many took their frustrations out on social media and demanded to get their money back as HBO Go and HBO Now crashed in the US and Latin America FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!! They fixed it about halfway through the episode.

OJ Simpson goes before the parole board this Thursday, and — if you’re interested — you can watch the whole thing on TV. Several major networks, including ESPN, will carry the hearing live from the Lovelock Correction Center in Nevada, beginning at 1pm ET/noon CT. OJ has been locked up since 2008, serving 33 years for armed robbery and kidnapping for trying to steal back his sports memorabilia in a Vegas hotel room. If things go his way, OJ could be a free man by October. He turned 70 on July 9.

Is it too late for Justin Bieber to say he’s sorry? Justin was popped by Beverly Hills police on Saturday for using his cell phone while driving. But police say Justin was very apologetic and cooperative, admitting that he knew better.

Aaron Carter was arrested in Georgia Saturday night, charged with refusing to take a DUI test, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and drug related objects. He was freed on bond Sunday afternoon. Aaron’s Backstreet Boy big brother Nick tweeted, “To my brother: I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better. Family isn’t always easy, (but) we’re all here for you.” Thru his rep, Aaron said, “If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That’s not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down.” In response to that, Nick retweeted his wife, who asked Aaron to have his girlfriend send them his new number since he changed it again.
