Mariah Carey is threatening her style team

Box office weekend news… Band Aid raises money to stop the Ebola outbreak in Africa… Bono’s bike injury… Lifetime premiered “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B”… and Mariah Carey is threatening her style team

No surprise that “Dumb and Dumber To” was number one at the box office, but it brought in a better-than-expected $38.1 million. Disney’s “Big Hero 6” was second with $36 million, followed by “Interstellar” in third with $29.1 million.

It’s been 30 years since Bob Geldof gathered all his buddies to form Band Aid and sing “Do They Know It’s Christmas” to raise money for starving children in Ethiopia. Three decades later, Bob put the call out to all his singing buddies again for a remake of the original, this time to raise money to stop the Ebola outbreak in Africa. This past Saturday, artists including One Direction, Bono, Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Sinead O’Connor, Bastille and others  gathered to record an updated version of the song. It’s available for digital download now. CDs will be available on December 8.

U2 was supposed to begin a week-long residency on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon tonight, but the band had to pull out at the last-minute. Bono was riding his bike through Central Park when he took a nasty spill an injured his arm. It’s so bad, he’ll have to have surgery.

Lifetime premiered the Wendy Williams produced “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B” movie on Saturday night. There were all sorts of problems getting this movie made. The family didn’t approve so none of Aaliyah’s music was allowed to be used. Zendaya dropped out of the project because it was such a hot mess. But the movie finally debuted and everyone HATED it. Twitter lit up with hilarious memes and criticisms, like, “The #aaliyahmovie needs to dust itself off and try again” and “Not even Olivia Pope can fix this mess!!!!” There was a lot of criticism over the poor casting. One tweeter said, “It look like they found those actors on craigslist.” Ad another suggested, “Just to make it fair, @WendyWilliams will be played by @RuPaul on Monday’s show.”

Mariah Carey has been eating her feelings since her marriage collapsed. Some are suggesting she’s gained as much as 40 pounds and some who’ve seen her on her current tour have been less than kind on social media. Reportedly, Mariah has threatened her style team, telling them it’s their duty to make her look better. And if she sees any more cyber-bullying about her weight and the way she looks in her clothes, heads will roll.
