Tyra Banks Sued By America’s Got Talent Contestant

Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial jury… Chris Brown was a no show… Ellen DeGeneres made an announcement… Oprah Winfrey saved Jamie Foxx… and Tyra Banks sued by America’s Got Talent contestant

The jury has been chosen for Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial, which is scheduled to start in two weeks. Out of a pool of 100, both sides agreed to the final twelve. Two of the jurors — one man and one woman, both in their 30s — are black. The rest are white. Of the six alternates chosen, there are four white men, one black man and one black woman. On Tuesday, Bill’s attorneys complained that prosecutors were purposely trying to keep black people off the jury, but the judge said he found no evidence of racial bias. Now this jury will have to decide whether Bill is guilty of drugging and molesting former Temple University basketball manager Andrea Constand back in 2004.

A judge is NOT happy with Chris Brown, who didn’t show up for a hearing regarding Karrueche Tran and J. Ryan LaCour’s restraining orders against him. Both Karreuche and her good buddy J. Ryan claim Chris threatened to kill them, and they’re both trying to get their temporary orders made permanent. Karreuche wasn’t in court, either. But she let the court know a week in advance that she had to be in New Orleans to film a TV show so she’d be on the phone for the hearing. But J. Ryan said he’d show up ready to testify. However, Chris’ attorneys argued that they had no idea that J. Ryan’s case was being presented and they were’t prepared to argue against it, so now the judge has granted their request for a continuance. However, the judge told them that Chris had better show up at the next hearing on June 15.

Ellen DeGeneres announced yesterday that Netflix asked her to do a standup special and she said YES! Why wouldn’t she? Netflix won’t comment on salaries, but they reportedly paid Chris Rock $20 million per special in a two-special deal. And they paid millions and millions more to Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld for their specials. There’s no telling how many zeros are on her check, but there were enough for a big fat YES. This will be Ellen’s first standup special in 15 years.

Ellen shared some exciting news!

Jamie Foxx says Oprah Winfrey staged an intervention that most likely saved his career. He says that back in 2005 — right after he got an Oscar nomination for “Ray” — he was having the time of his life, partying non-stop. He admitted that he was having SUCH a good time, he didn’t realize he was messing up. And that’s when he got a phone call from Oprah who told him, “I want to take you somewhere and make you understand the significance of what you’re doing.” Jamie says Oprah invited Jamie to Quincy Jones’ home, where all of these black actors from the 60s and 70s were waiting to talk to him. He says they all basically told him the same thing, “Don’t blow it.” But Jamie says it was talking to Sidney Poitier that really did it. Sidney told him, “I want to give you responsibility…When I saw your performance, it made me grow two inches.” And that’s when Jamie says he broke down in tears and realized it was time to grow up. He went on to win the Oscar for “Ray.”

A woman is suing the production company behind “America’s Got Talent” because she says her daughter was traumatized by Tyra Banks! This woman — referred to as Jane Doe — says she and her husband tried out before the AGT judges, singing a song they wrote about motherhood. But she claims the producers told the daughter to act embarrassed by her parents. And then while they were performing onstage, Tyra was backstage shaking their daughter’s shoulders and pulling on her hair. Mom says her daughter was too afraid of Tyra to make her stop. And then to make things worse, Tyra asked the daughter to talk about her feelings after her parents’ humiliating performance. Mom says the girl was so traumatized, she fell into a deep depression. Mom is now suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil battery and civil assault. And she wants a jury trial.
