These are desperate times for the producers of “The View.” Rather than mercifully putting the show to sleep, they keep trying to pump life back into it. They’ve hired Candace Cameron-Bure and Raven-Symone to attract a younger audience. They’re bringing back Sherri Shepherd to attract the audience that still believes the world is flat. And according to Joy Behar, producers approached her about coming back, but “they wouldn’t negotiate well enough” for her. Joy said if they’d give her a bigger role and more power to make changes, she might consider it. But since they’ll never do that, she said, “Why bang my head against the wall?”
“The Wiz” is airing live on NBC in December, and producers are scrambling to fill the roles. We found out yesterday that Queen Latifah will be The Wiz and Mary J. Blige is playing the Wicked Witch of the West. Now E! is reporting that Beyonce has been offered the role of Glinda the Good Witch! It’s hers to refuse! And if she does, E! says the part will be offered to Crazy Eyes — “Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba.
For the first time since Bruce Jenner made the transition to Caitlyn, she finally had a face-to-face meeting with ex-wife Kris Jenner. It happened Tuesday at Caitlyn’s home in Malibu. Sources told RadarOnline.com that things got very tense after Caitlyn’s “Vanity Fair” interview where she claimed their were times in their marriage that Kris “wasn’t very nice.” But they finally decided to get together and work things out. Sources say things got emotional, but both of them worked out their differences in the end. It’s unclear whether this was filmed for either “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” or “I Am Cait.” After all, it doesn’t count if it didn’t happen on camera!
The countdown is on! Kylie Jenner turns 18 on August 10. But since she’s not old enough to drink here, she’s crossing the border! Kylie is celebrating her birthday at Beachclub Montreal, which is described as Canada’s answer to Ibiza. The club even has its own mini island with a beach and a pool. The club’s owner is sparing no expense, either. Kylie will be flown in on a helicopter, which will land on a yacht that will then dock next to her table that will be stocked with the best champagne.
Zayn Malik finally posted a picture of himself smiling and also explaining the real reason he left One Direction. He captioned it, “I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!” Yes, Zayn has a solo deal with RCA. Former label boss Simon Cowell tweeted his congratulations, saying he believes RCA is “the perfect label for @ZaynMalik’s solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special.”
