NBC’s big plans for Adam Levine….An American Idol judge is saying goodbye…and lots of surprising picks and snubs on Maxim’s Hot 100 list. Kellie has the scoop in today’s Showbiz Top 5.
It’s a bit of a problem when you think you’re worth way more than your bosses do and that may be the case over on Bravo. Sources say they are ready to cancel “The Real Housewives of New York City” after the women banded together to demand huge raises to come back for season six. The problem is, ratings for season five were the lowest they’ve ever been. But that doesn’t matter to Ramona, LuAnn, Sonja, Carole, Heather and Aviva! They say give us a big fat raise or we won’t show up for filming on Monday! Bravo executives are said to be furious, and told the ladies to either sign the deal on the table by COB today or they are all fired.
NBC LOVES them some Adam Levine, and they’ve signed him to a big-money deal to create programming for the next year with his manager, who just so happens to be Jonah Hill’s brother. So basically, these two guys are going to sit in a room and say “What if we did a show about THIS!” a lot until they come up with something good. And Adam reportedly has been working behind the scenes already on a comedy pilot set in a karaoke bar in 2011. But what was so funny about 2011?
Now that her 4-year-old twin boys are safe with Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen’s other ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, can take another stab at rehab. This would be her 19th attempt, from what we’ve been able to calculate. Brooke has voluntarily checked into Betty Ford for the next 30 days, and RadarOnline.com says it’s because she specifically wanted to be in rehab with Lindsay Lohan.
What was more shocking: Last night’s elimination or Randy Jackson’s announcement that he’s finally leaving “American Idol” after 12 seasons? I’m going to guess the former. Even though Candice Glover is the one to beat, Angie Miller was considered a no-brainer for being in the top two. But never underestimate the power of a really sad backstory. And after Kree Harrison’s hometown visit and a deeper look at her tragic childhood, losing both parents at an early age, Kree overcame a lackluster night of performances to make it to the final round.
Miley Cyrus jumped the gun when she announced last weekend that she was this year’s #1 pick for the Maxim Hot 100 list. Many of us at KKITM were hoping Maxim would pull a switcharoo for blowing their best-kept secret before the big reveal yesterday, but no…they let the list stand as it was. And yes…Miley Cyrus is Maxim’s hottest woman of the year. Last year’s number one pick Bar Rafaeli? She didn’t even make the top 100 at all, so that shows you how legit this thing is. Anyway, coming in second was Selena Gomez, followed by Rihanna, Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence. Other interesting picks were Manti Te’o’s fake girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, came in at #69 and the “Today” shows, Hoda Kotb is #79 on the list.}
