Boxing legend George Foreman passed away on Friday at the age of 76. The family hasn’t shared the cause of death, but in a lengthy Instagram tribute they said he died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. George was one of 7 children born in Marshall, Texas. He had a troubled childhood and dropped out of school at 15, but he later earned his GED and developed an interest in sports, especially boxing. In 1968, at the age of 19, George won an Olympic gold medal for boxing in Mexico City. He went on to fight the greatest of the greats, including Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. He earned his 2 heavyweight titles by defeating Joe and Michael Moorer. George retired in 1977, but famously made a comeback in 1987 at the age of 38. However, it was in 1994 when George came out swinging with the George Foreman Grill! And more people probably remember him for that than for his boxing career! George was married five times and he is survived by 11 of his 12 children, including five sons who were all named George and seven daughters, one of whom is named Georgetta.
Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers has been adduced of sexual assault by one woman and sexual harassment by another. On Thursday, a TikToker named joozyb shared screen shots of her interaction with Joe, which happened back in September 2023. She claims that she and her mom saw Joe at brunch and asked for a photo. She later slid into his DMs to share the photo, hoping she’d get free tickets to his show in Milwaukee. Joe not only gave her two tickets, he threw in some meet-and-greet passes. Afterward joozyb says she and Joe DM’d each other, but he used vanish mode so the messages disappeared. However, she claims Joe gave her directions to his hotel room, and she was drunk and agreed to go. But that’s when she said the alleged assault took place. All she would say is “some stuff happened,” but then she posted a photo of a bruise on her rear end, claiming Joe bit her. And based on the timing of the Milwaukee show, all this happened after Joe and his wife Bessy reconciled after a year-long separation. Joe didn’t deny “some stuff happened,” but he did deny it was assault. He said, “I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most…Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to.” Meantime, a second woman has since come forward, claiming she worked for Joe for two years. During that time, she claims he would grab her inappropriately, ask for back massages, and ask about her sex life. If she rejected his advances or refused to flirt back, he’d be rude to her at work. No comment from Joe on that accusation.
Snow White opened with $43M, below the most modest of expectations but enough for a first place finish. The studio was hopeful the global number would come in around $100M, but it fell short with just $87.3M. The new spy thriller Black Bag starring Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett came in second with $4.4M, followed by Robert De Niro’s new mob movie, The Alto Knights, with $3.2M. The sci-fi dark comedy Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo came in fourth with $3.9M, followed by the action thriller Novocaine with $3.8M.
Justin Bieber is working on himself. Last week, he posted a long message about dealing with imposter syndrome and over the weekend, he added, “I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh.” Along with the message, he posted a close-up photo o himself with his hood down, along with a throwback photo of himself as a smiling, happy child. There was another photo of him and his baby boy Jack lying on a blanket, watching a movie. He also shared a screen grab of his FaceTime call with Dr. Jocelyne Miranda, a chiropractor whose IG profile says, “Body Biomechanics/Biodynamics and Soft Tissue Specialist/Athletic and Vocal Performance. If you recognize the name, it’s because she was running around with Shawn Mendes last year and everybody thought they were dating.”
