Weekend box office news… Malia Obama’s new job… NeNe Leakes joins a variety show… Scott Disick cozying up to a new woman… and Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis get hitched
It was a close race, but “Jurassic World” was number one at the box office this weekend with $30.9 million. “Inside Out” was nipping at its heels with $30.1 million. Despite all the hype, the weekend’s two new movies had disappointing openings. “Terminator Genisys” debuted in third with $28.7 million, followed by “Magic Mike XXL” with $12 million. “Ted 2” rounded out the top five with $11 million.
First daughter Malia Obama is an intern for the HBO series “Girls.” A source told “Us Weekly” that when Lena Dunham visited the White House, Malia told her she’s a huge fan of the show. One thing led to another and now Malia is interning for the show. She just turned 17 on Saturday. Discuss.
Season eight of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” begins filming in two weeks and there are some major casting changes. Show matriarch NeNe Leakes is not coming back. Sources told RadarOnline that Bravo had enough of her diva behavior on set and let her go. But NeNe lives on! She just announced she’s joining ABC’s new variety show, “To Tell the Truth.” We know that Kandi, Cynthia, Phaedra and Kenya will all be back. And after a season’s demotion to “friend of the Housewives,” Dish Nation’s own Porsha Williams got bumped back up to Housewife status. But Claudia Jordan reportedly lost her peach, however we don’t know if she’s gone altogether or if she’s been demoted to “friend.”
Scott Disick spent the holiday weekend cozying up to a woman who is NOT his baby mama on the beaches of Monaco. Before he and Kourtney Kardashian got together, Scott dated Chloe Bartoli, and he and Chloe were seen being very affectionate with each other, feeding each other and being very touchy feely. Meantime, Kourtney was home celebrating the Fourth with Scott’s three babies.
After months of teasing us, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis REALLY got married over the weekend. “People” magazine reported that the couple gave their families and a few close friends about 24 hours’ notice before the ceremony took place in LA. The couple began dating in 2012, about a year after Ashton separated from his wife, Demi Moore. The were engaged in February 2014 and had their daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, eight months later.
