Big Al’s Blog: Arsenio Hall

What a classy guy. My respect level is off the charts when it comes to this guy. Sure we meet a lot of people in the business that we are in but Arsenio was a pleasure meeting and hanging out with both on the show Friday morning as well as at his show on Saturday. We started out going back and forth tweeting because of an old picture of me from Elementary school that looked a lot like him. He commented on the picture after seeing it on TV (#dishnation) and I feel like have been buddies ever since. Then, after talking to my mom about him, She told me that she still had her Arsenio Hall T-shirt that I bought for her years ago when she and I were in the audience of his show. I tweeted a pic of her wearing the shirt a few days ago and that prompted him to send my mom flowers. Just a simple gesture like that had my mom so incredibly happy. She got FLOWERS from Arsenio Hall delivered to her house. She wanted to say thank you so she left him a voice mail and now it’s like he’s part of the family. Did I mention how cool and nice he was by meeting my girlfriend and our friends before the show Saturday Night? He was just a great guy and I wish him nothing but the best.

big-al-blog-pic-092115Sunday night my girlfriend and I along with “Fat Whitey”, (he named himself that), we all went to the Garth Concert. I was a bit of a fish out of water. Duh! I mean, I didn’t know a lot of the songs but that man moves on stage like he is 25 years old. All during the show, he kept saying how his voice was gone and he is getting old. but amazingly, he sounded great and it was a great show. At least the first hour was great…I had to leave after that. I was so tired from the weekend, I couldn’t see any way to stay up past 10pm and then wake up this morning at 3am. My girlfriend stayed for the whole thing with our friends. I’ll get the details from her!
