Did anyone experience an “act of love” over the weekend? I did. Friday, I was in a bit of a doghouse with my girlfriend. So, i wanted to make it up to her. I invited her to dinner. It wasn’t anything over the top. It was more about the two of us spending some quality time together. Well, that was just the start. After dinner, we went back to my bar to hang out. It was karaoke night and that’s always fun to watch and I usually sing a few as well. I have always wanted my girlfriend to sing but she never does. But, I always ask. And Friday, the stars must have been in perfect alignment. I asked and asked like I always do and she finally said yes.

But she needed a song. This decision took another 30 minutes. And we finally decided on Sara Bareilles. I went up to sing and then I did the introduction. There was lots of love and applause for her. She was sooooo nervous. How can a surgeon be nervous? She operates on people. The look on her face said it all. She was scared as heck but she did it any way. And she sang like a pro. She got lots of applause and after she was done, I went up to give her a hug. She looked at me and said “I did that because I love you!” Awwww…. I gave her another hug. It was the best Friday night ever!
