An embarrassing moment for Ciara…more problems for Chris Brown…and Paris Jackson moves to a third hospital…Kellie Rasberry has the scoop in today’s Showbiz Top 5!
People love being scared to death because “The Purge” was number one at the box office this weekend, taking in an estimated $36.4 million. And here’s the thing — that movie was filmed on a $3 million budget! “The Purge” bumped “Fast & Furious 6” down to second, followed by “Now You See Me.” And debuting in fourth place was the new Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson attempt at a comedy, “The Internship,” which earned a disappointing $18.1 million. That may have just covered Vince’s salary and part of Owen’s
Ciara was performing at a club on Saturday night as part of LA’s Gay Pride festival when a fan at the front of the stage handed her some papers. Ciara took the papers, threw them down on the ground and kept on performing. She’s a pro like that! But the fan just picked the papers up again, placed them on the stage and informed Ciara, “You’ve been served!” Ciara had been scheduled to perform at another gay club the night before, and they’re suing her for breach of contract. But Ciara’s rep says she backed out of the deal before a contract was signed and it’s not her fault the club kept promoting she’d be there.
It seems like ancient history, but remember back in January when Chris Brown and Frank Ocean got into a fight outside an LA recording studio? We forgot about that, too. But the LA County DA’s Office hasn’t forgotten! Even though Frank never formally pressed charges, this case is still open. The DA’s office could still decide to prosecute Chris for battery. Meantime, Chris is still being investigated for an alleged hit-and-run. And all this will certainly come up in court today, where Chris is due for a probation review hearing.
Paris Jackson was moved to her third hospital on Saturday. After her suicide attempt early last Wednesday, paramedics drove her to the nearest hospital. The next day, Paris was transferred to a pediatric hospital hospital where she was placed on psychiatric hold. Once that was lifted, Paris was transferred on Saturday to the same hospital where her father was pronounced dead on June 25, 2009. She remains there for further treatment.
Justin Bieber should stick to clubbing on the East Coast because LA doesn’t put up with that underage nonsense. According to E! News, someone from Justin’s team stopped by Lure nightclub on Saturday to let them know Justin would be stopping by that night. The club told him not to bother. Because Justin’s not 21, they weren’t going to let him in. But Justin showed up anyway and sneaked in through a back door. He would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for The Game. He busted Justin from the stage, letting security know he’d sneaked in. They escorted him immediately from the building. A source says Justin looked really embarrassed.
