Sundance switches locations for 2027. The latest Hunger Games book. Megan Fox gave birth to her baby. There’s EVEN MORE Hollywood updates!

Starting in 2027, after more than 4 decades, the Sundance Film Festival is leaving Park City, Utah, for its new home. It was between Salt Lake City, Cincinnati, and Boulder, and after a yearlong valuation process, Boulder was chosen for its event capability, transportation and hospitality. Robert Redford founded the Sundance Film Festival back in 1981, and he released a statement thanking Utah for its longstanding support, but acknowledged that the change is necessary, adding that Boulder is the ideal location for the festival’s next chapter. This is a pretty big blow for Utah’s economy. Last year’s festival drew almost 73K attendees who spent over $106M. The festival also created over 1700 jobs that brought in close to $14M in state and local tax revenue. The final Sundance Film Festival in Utah is scheduled for January 22 through February 1, 2026, in Park City and Salt Lake City, and moves to Boulder the following year.

In book news, Suzanne Collins’ latest Hunger Games novel, Sunrise on the Reaping, has sold over 1.5M copies worldwide — with 1.2M of those sold in the US — in its first week alone. That’s more than double the first-week sales of its predecessor, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Fans went all out with midnight launch parties, and critics are loving it. The book dives into Panem’s past, focusing on the 50th Hunger Games—aka the Second Quarter Quell—and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy. Lionsgate is set to release the movie version of Sunrise on the Reaping on Nov. 20, 2026. In other book news, James Patterson is teaming up with MrBeast to co-write a thriller novel under the working tile, The Most Dangerous Game. The logline reads: “Players fight to survive deadly tests held in dangerous locations around the world, as they battle to become ‘The One’.” Film, TV and novel rights are being shopped now, with sources saying “eight-figure offers” for the publish rights are being fielded.

Alix Earle fans are freaking out after she pressed the pause on her Hot Mess podcast. The drama started after rumors of a fallout between Alix Earle and Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast. Fans are convinced Alex Cooper, who signed Alix Earle to her Unwell Network in 2023, might be behind the sudden break. Last month, Alix Earler abrubtly left the Unwell Network, and adding fuel to the fire, she skipped the Unwell Super Bowl party in New Orleans, even though she was in town for all the festivities. Alix Earle announced said she was pausing her podcast “for the foreseeable future” to focus her energies on YouTube vlogs, leaving people wondering what the heck is up. So after all these wild conspiracy theories, Alex Cooper hopped on TikTok to clear the air. She insisted that Alix Earle’s hiatus has nothing to do with Unwell and reminded us that Alix Earle owns all her podcast rights. She even threw in a little sass, saying she “learned from the best” and tagged her old boss, Dave Portnoy. PS, The US Sun revealed that Alix Earle plans recently filed trademarks for Earle Girls and Gearles, hinting at future content about relationships, lifestyle, and young adulthood—and maybe even a clothing line.

It’s been 8 years since the Fyre Festival disaster, which was promoted by heavy-hitting influencers like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid with promises of an incredible musical lineup and luxury accommodations in the beautiful Bahamas. But when guests arrive, there were no artists, a bunch of tents and cheese sandwiches. Organizer Billy McFarland went to prison for 3 years over that fiasco, so there’s NO WAY he would try to pull the same stunt again, right? But here we are. Fyre Festival 2 is rapidly approaching, May 30 through June 2. Originally set to take place on Isla Mujeres, one tourism official in Mexico said nobody in his office had any idea what Billy was talking about. Since then, the location has been changed twice. Now — according to Billy and another organizer named Nick Lawson — all the necessary permits have been secured for Fyre Festival 2 to be held in Playa del Carmen. At a press conference, Nick said they were blindsided when that tourism guy said about Isla Mujeres, but he said, “We ultimately found the perfect home for Fyre Festival 2 in Playa Del Carmen. Playa has the ideal combinations of beach clubs, hotels, and experiences for our guests. We’ve been welcomed with open arms and couldn’t have asked for a better location partner.” And local officials were there to show their support, so they’re basically trying to speak this into existence. According to Billy and Nick and other organizers at the conference, Fyre Festival 2 will host around 1800 guests and feature 40 musical performances. The lineup will be revealed next week on social media, so keep checking back. Ticket packages range from $1400 to a $1.1M, but if you plan on rolling the dice and buying a package just to see how this plays out, all ticket sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges, even if the event is canceled or significantly altered. Additionally, Fyre reserves the right to modify dates, venues, or the lineup without offering refunds.
