Disney+ launched on Nov. 12, 2019. At the time, Disney execs estimated they would reach 60M-90M subscribers by the start of 2024. But from day one, they have been blasting straight past all expectations. Yesterday, Disney’s CEO announced they have surpassed 100M subscribers YEARS ahead of schedule. A lot of that success is due to their massive content library and original shows like “The Mandalorian” and “WandaVision.” Disney has set a new goal. They want to have between 300M-350M subscribers by 2024 across Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. Those three combined currently have about 137M subscribers. Netflix is still leading the pack of streaming services with 203.7M. Amazon Prime Video is second with 150M, with Disney+ in third with 100M.

Okay. ONE more thing about Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah. And it’s not what you think. Did you happen to notice the chairs the three of them were sitting on? Those are from the Christopher Knight Home collection. The Burchett outdoor club chairs sell for about $550 a pair. And if you don’t recognize the name, Christopher Knight was known in a previous life as Peter Brady! Who knew????? These chairs have now sold out everywhere online, but you can get on a wait list if you love them.

Just days after Naya Rivera passed away last July from an accidental drowning, Ryan Murphy, creator of “Glee,” said he will start a college fund for her son, Josey. According to Naya’s father, George, it hasn’t happened. Naya‘s father Tweeted that Ryan has been full of “broken Promises,” “fake outrage” and “hollow gestures.” He also claimed that there had been no phone calls despite Ryan saying that he had spoken to her family following her death. Later, Ryan Tweeted “Myself, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera’s child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust. We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate.”

Congratulations to JWoww! Jenni Farley announced yesterday that she is engaged to her on again/off again boyfriend turned fiance Zack Carpinello. She kept the news to herself for a minute because in her Instagram announcement, JWoww posted a couple photos of her and Zack sharing a kiss and sipping champagne, captioning them, “On 2.27 I said yes on the top of the Empire State Building.” She kept that short and sweet! This will be JWoww’s second marriage. She was married to Roger Mathews from 2015-2019 and they share two kids, 6-year-old Meilani and 4-year-old Greyson.

The #FreeBritney movement really picked up steam after the “Framing Britney Spears” documentary, but who saw this coming?? Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee chairman asking for a televised inquiry into the due process of conservatorships. In his letter, Congressman Gaetz said, “In recent years, there has been growing public concern about the use of conservatorships to effectively deprive individuals of personal freedoms at the behest of others through the manipulation of the courts. The most striking example is perhaps the case of multi-platinum performing artist Britney Spears…The facts and circumstancing giving rise to this arrangement remain in dispute but involve questionable motives and legal tactics by her father and now-conservator, Jamie Spears.” Gaetz later tweeted, “I think @britneyspears would be a great witness in the House Judiciary Committee. She would likely have a lot to say on conservatorships. #FreeBritney.”
