In celebrity real estate news —
In Taylor Swift’s real estate portfolio is an 11K-square-foot mansion that sits on a clifftop in Rhode Island, overlooking the Atlantic, along with 700 feet of private beach. Taylor reportedly paid $17.75M for the property back in 2013. All cash. The Holiday House, which is also known as High Watch, features 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, but that’s about to change. Now that she’s wrapped up her Eras Tour and has a little time on her hands, Taylor got the itch for home renovation. The Providence Journal discovered a building permit was filed for contractors to add another 16’ x 24’ bedroom and an unknown number of more bathrooms, as well as a kitchen remodel. According to the permit issued last month, labor and materials for this project are estimated to be $1.7M. It doesn’t sound like Taylor ever plans to sell Holiday House. It actually inspired her 2020 song The Last Great American Dynasty, which is about one of the home’s former residents, a scandalous socialite named Rebekah Harkness.
Following the announcement that her marriage is over, Jessica Simpson has listed her Hidden Hills mansion for $17.9M. The listing follows her family’s evacuation due to the LA wildfires. Jessica bought the house from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne back in 2013 for $11.5M. At just over 13K-square-foot, the home features 7 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, a grand foyer with a spiral staircase, and a huge pool in the backyard that overlooks the hills. Jessica previously listed the home in 2023 for $22M, but cut it by more than a $4M for the relisting.

Timothée Chalamet portrays a young Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, and often wears replicas of Bob Dylan’s previous looks to its premieres around the world. But last night for an unknown reason, Timmy showed up for the London premiere of A Complete Unknown riding a Lime bicycle. Also at the premiere were his costars Monica Barbaro, who plays Joan Baez, and Edward Norton, who plays Pete Seeger. They all just earned SAG Awards nominations for their individual work and another nomination as an ensemble cast.

A 53-year-old French interior designer named Anne was scammed out of $850K by someone posing as Brad Pitt on social media. Anne says it all started when someone pretending to be Brad’s mother contacted her and said Brad deserved to be with someone like her and not that mean old Angelina Jolie. And then suddenly “Brad” stars messaging her. “At first,” Anne said, “I said to myself that it was fake, that it’s ridiculous. But I’m not used to social media and I didn’t really understand what was happening to me.” For the next year, “Brad” wooed her, sending her poems and using photoshopped pictures and AI-generated images convincing her that Brad was in the hospital for a kidney problem but couldn’t pay for it because his accounts were frozen because of his ongoing divorce dispute with Angelina. Anne not only sent “Brad” $850K, she divorced her husband so she could be with him! It wasn’t until Anne saw pictures online of the real Brad Pitt with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon that she realized she’d been scammed. She reportedly has been hospitalized now for severe depression.

Celebrity legal updates — Diddy and his lawyers are demanding access to 9 “freak-off” videos that are central in the case against him. They believe it proves that everyone was a willing participant who was having a good time, including “Victim 1.” “Victim 1” would be Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who requested these videos not be produced to protect her privacy. But Diddy’s lawyers say the tapes contradict all of Cassie’s allegations of coercion, blackmail and other crimes, pointing out that she kept the videos on her phone for years. If they were so upsetting, they ask, why would she have kept them? Diddy’s trial is set to begin May 5. If convicted on racketeering charges, he could face life in prison.
In other legal news, Justin Baldoni is embroiled in a lawsuit with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds over their claims of sexual harassment and retaliation during the production of It Ends with Us. Not only has Justin denied their allegations, he’s suing The New York Times for defamation because they reported Blake’s side and didn’t present his. Justin and his attorney also believe that Ryan and Blake used their creative control on Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine to mock him through a character named “Nicepool.” In their latest legal move, Justin’s attorney sent a letter to Disney and Marvel demanding that preserve any and all documents related the creation of that character. This is going to be a long, ugly battle. Some legal experts say this might not go to trial until 2027.
