All it takes is 30 seconds… 30 seconds, and your life is completely taken over by some dang app. I have been pretty good about not getting addicted to apps in my life. For some reason, I got curious as to what is happening in the app store now days. I feel like I am not in tune with the cool apps like I used to be. A couple of years back, I would regularly check the featured, most popular, and editors choices in the app store. I havent done that in forever. So, I was bored, saw the lil “app store” button on my phone, clicked it, and boom! I saw an app called “Boom Beach”. You basically have an island, an army, and you have to defend it from other people (both real and computer created) attacking it. You build your lil island up with weapons and buildings that will help you protect it, and build your army at the same time, so you can go take land form other people. It’s one of those apps that you can only play a few minutes every hour or so, because you have to wait for your army to be trained, or for a building to be built to keep doing stuff.
Problem is that I have been playing for about a week, and I check on my island first thing in the morning, first thing after work, before showering, etc. I mean, if I have a couple seconds, I give it a check up. I wanted to quit cold turkey, but I was attacked and robbed by “cheerflyer17”. Things got personal… problem is, once they hit you up, you can’t find them. That sucks. Kinsey has started getting annoyed that I play my “video game” here and there, but I just don’t know how to quit it.
We are taking Cason to Disney on Ice, and I have been warned that if I pull that thing out during the show, there will be wife repercussions. She didn’t specify, but I can only imagine. I guess I will be going to the bathroom due to a “overachieving bladder” a lot today. Yup, I got tricks up my sleeve!
