Jenna’s Blog: A Valentine’s-ish Date
Jenna’s Blog: A Valentine’s-ish Date

As much as I was hoping for Valentine’s weekend to just come and go, it actually turned out to be pretty fantastic. So of course, I had a 3 point buzzer beater to win the game on Friday and scored myself a Valentine’s-ish date.

Honestly, I don’t really consider it a Valentine’s date, it just happened to be that he was in town when I was free so we went out for the night. It was actually quite hilarious to be out on a couples weekend. It started out funny because I had to make the plans because he so unfamiliar with the city and was just here to work all weekend. I offered to pick him up from his hotel, so the entire night started as a complete role reversal. I had the great idea as I drove up to ask him if he wanted to drive, because after all it is a date and he does race cars for a living. As far as first dates go, it was pretty stellar. With so many mutual friends, I figured we would get along. After dinner, my best friends came along to meet up and we ended up drinking waaay to much and dancing all night a fun bar. It was really the greatest time.

I think I kinda of blew it, typical Jenna, because we had tentative plans to hang out again on Sunday night, but with nothing set in stone I got the call the meet my new pug babies an hour outside of town and of course I jumped in the car and did that. And yes, here are my new babies! I had been quite nervous lately about rescuing two dogs. Really more of a post-traumatic- having to put Maximus to sleep- scared to lose something again feeling. But DFW Pug Rescue has done such a wonderful thing for me. Matching me up with pugs that will work with my lifestyle and the ideal ages for me. The little boy has to have surgery today to fix his dislocated hip. This poor thing was beaten so badly by his previous owner. Broken ribs, shattered pelvis, injured and untreated eye. He is almost in the clear, so if all goes well, I will be taking both him and his younger black pug girlfriend home with my in just a few weeks! What an incredible moment that was yesterday.

I am moving Friday, so just need to settle into the new place and get it ready for the new family members! Speaking of the new house, it’s coming along nicely. Fresh paint job and I strung 100 pieces of glass on my chandelier! Probably a little boring to most, but look!
