Jenna’s Blog: Roomie cycle

People often joke about best girlfriends getting on the same “time of the month” cycle, because they are around eachother so much. That has never been the case for Holly and I, but in similar fashion, I have been trying to the last year to get her on my manicure cycle. The most girly thing to do with your friends is definitely getting your nails done, but Holly and I have been on different cycles since we’ve known each other. She wants to save money, or she just got hers done and this is the one things I actually make time for and spend the money on every single 2 weeks.

I have been trying to get Holly on my same cycle so she can start joining me. We hardly get any time together these days, so if I could just lock her down on the mani/pedi schedule, I’d have a date every 2 weeks with her. This weekend, it worked perfectly. Now our nail cycles are synched and I finally don’t have to do something alone for the first time in a long time…girls out there know exactly what I’m talking about.

I tried something new this weekend and failed of course. Out of the 4 years I’ve lived in the south, I have yet to ride a mechanical bull. So many bars provide this opportunity to embarrass you, but I tend to have non appropriate bull riding outfits on. This Saturday night was different. I was off the beaten path with some friends and I got my chance. Why not? I have jeans and boots on, perfect for riding some bull. Holly gave me positive energy, shouting, “You’re going to break your nose!” and “No! Don’t do it! You’re going to lose a tooth!” After that encouragement, I managed to stay on that things for nearly 30 seconds. Not bad right? I got absolutely tossed hard to the ground but let’s check that off the things to do before you die list at least. Definitely won’t do it again.

I spent the rest of my weekend being completely lazy and trying to catch up on sleep. I’ve been sick for over 2 weeks and can’t get healthy so I’m not sure at this juncture, what to do anymore. I felt a little bad baking endless amounts of desserts for my Friendsgiving party. Sneezing, coughing and baking. Yes, I am somewhat domesticated..shocking I know. I spent my entire Friday night baking desserts/half of which Holly and I ate and still feel sick from. The bod is really not going to be looking good for my upcoming winter beach vacation. Time to get healthy and beach ready. Starts today.
