Disney gets hit with a lawsuit. Caitlin Clark’s stalker was arrested. More Hallmark, more romance. All that and more!

An animator named Buck Woodall is suing Disney for AT LEAST $10B. Back in 2003, Buck claims he gave his screenplay for an animated movie called Bucky to a film producer named Jenny Marchick and his then-employer Mandeville Films. In 2011, Buck sent a copy of his final draft to Jenny, who was working as a consultant on original movies at Disney. But in 2016, Disney releases Moana and Buck says, Hey! That’s a lot like my script for Bucky! According to his lawsuit, both Moana and Buck are about “a teenager who defies parental warnings and embarks on a dangerous voyage.” Not only that, Buck says both Bucky and Moana use ancient Polynesian villages as a backdrop, the Polynesian belief in spiritual ancestors and the civilizations’ use of sea navigation by the stars. Oh! And there’s also a main character who meets a demigod who has a giant hook and tattoos. Buck claims they stole even more of his ideas for Moana 2. He not only wants $10B in damages, he wants at least 2.5% of “gross revenues appertaining or relating to Moana in the sum of at least $5 billion.”

A man has been arrested for allegedly stalking WNBA star Caitlin Clark. 55-year-old Michael Lewis of Denton, Texas, was arrested in Indianapolis on Sunday after police traced his activity to a hotel in the area. Officers had spoken to Michael last week, who claimed he was simply vacationing in Indianapolis and downplayed the nature of the messages he’d been sending Caitlin. Officers told him to stop with the messages, which he didn’t. So officers took action and arrested him. Several of the alleged messages Michael sent Caitlin are included in the arrest warrant, and they’re very disturbing. Some of them mention being near Caitlin’s home and others about getting tickets to her games and sitting behind the bench. Officials have filed a stay-away order and they’ve filed a motion for greater than standard bond. The Level 5 felony comes with a sentence of up to six years and a maximum fine of $10,000.

She will perform alongside The Armed Forces Chorus and The United States Naval Academy Glee Club at the ceremony. Knowing she’d receive backlash, Carrie released a statement saying, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
