Paris Hilton found a reason to go to Cannes! Since she was burglarized by the infamous Bling Ring, it only makes sense that Paris would be there to support Sofia Coppola’s new movie, “The Bling Ring.” But Paris also used the opportunity to promote her own project — her new record deal! Holla! Paris says she’s been signed to Cash Money Records and she’s working on an album of house music that should be ready to go this summer. But Paris’ rep turned around and said there have been talks, but nothing’s been confirmed. The rep also says Paris has been talking to a few labels and not just Cash Money.
Page Six has learned that at tonight’s amfAR gala at the Cannes Film Festival, one of the auction items up for grabs is a trip on the Virgin Galactic space flight with LEONARDO DICAPRIO!!! Seats on the world’s first commercial space flight cost $200K, but to be strapped in next to Leonardo Freakin’ DiCaprio?? PRICELESS! And this thing is pretty close to happening, too. Virgin boss said he hopes to launch the first manned flight from his spaceport in New Mexico around Christmas this year. The ship will carry six passengers and two pilots as it soars to an altitude of 360,000 feet above the earth. The whole trip lasts about 2.5 hours. But it’s not like you just write a check and strap yourself in for takeoff. You have to go through 3 days of training. And so far, according to Virgin Galactic, 65K people have already put their names on the waiting list for seats on these flights. And celebrities who reportedly already bought tickets include Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Ashton Kutcher.
Psy has been a HUGE hit at all the parties in Cannes. He’s partying next to celebrities…hanging out in VIP…jumping behind the DJ booth for a bit…going to all the gifting suites, picking up free swag…dancing on a French TV show…Yeah. Except it wasn’t Psy. It was just a guy who looks an awfully lot like Psy and was taking advantage of the situation. In fact, fake Psy was negotiating a deal to appear at an awards show in Monaco when he finally got busted. An event organizer spoke with Psy’s record label and realized they’d been duped. Psy didn’t seem to be too upset, tweeting from Singapore, “Seems like there’s another ME at Cannes…say Hi to him.”
Everybody is jockeying for that first post-double mastectomy interview with Angelina Jolie, but NBC might as well take themselves out of the running. Angelina and Brad Pitt had a long-standing relationship with Ann Curry, and they were not happy when she was fired from the “Today” show last year. In fact, Angelina was so upset by the way NBC treated her, she said she wouldn’t speak to anybody at NBC ever again! Except for Ann. So maybe they still have a shot with Angelina, but only if Ann is the one doing the interview.
Justin Bieber can’t trust anyone. So now, all guests entering his home have to sign a Liability Waiver and Release. And if they dare post any pictures or discuss any details about what they see, hear and do behind Justin’s walls on the internet, they will be hit with a $5 million fine. This has actually become a more common practice among celebrities. TMZ says many of them now have guests sign documents not only threatening lawsuits, but protecting themselves from getting sued. For instance, in Justin’s waiver, guests are warned there may be activities at the party which may be “potentially hazardous and you should not participate unless you are medically able and properly trained.” Among the risks? “Minor injuries to catastrophic injuries, including death.” Death by Bieber?!?! What the heck are they doing at his parties???
