Kristen Stewart should have stayed home and watched The Oscars on TV

Who will be dancing the night away on Dancing with the Stars this season?…Why Sofia Vergara a no-show at The Oscars….and what was inside the imfamous Oscar swag bags this year?

The new Dancing with the Stars cast will be announced tomorrow, but there are a few names being leaked already. TMZ has a source that says Kellie Pickler, Wynonna Judd and Bachelor Sean Lowe are among the celebrity dancers for season 16. And while Julianne Hough says she doesn’t ever plan on coming back to the show, her brother Derek Hough has confirmed that he’ll be back again this season. Bad boy Maksim Chmerkovskiy is taking the season off — his choice. He’s been with the show since season two and he wants to pursue some other adventures. Chelsie Hightower won’t be back, either. But she told TMZ it definitely wasn’t her choice. She was fired.

Sofia Vergara is always up for a mermaid dress and a red carpet, but — unfortunately for us — she had to miss the Oscars last night. All seemed well on Friday night when she was out to dinner at Boa Steakhouse with her fiance, Nick Loeb. But on Saturday, the flu hit Sofia hard and she reportedly paid a visit to the hospital. But she was able to go home and spend her Sunday curled up in bed, watching the Oscars on TV just like the rest of us.

Perhaps Kristen Stewart should’ve followed Sofia Vergara’s lead and stayed home, but she decided to break out the crutches and hobble down the Oscars red carpet. According to her makeup artist, Kristen sliced the ball of her foot, quite severely, on a piece of glass Friday. She managed to limp out crutch-free alongside Daniel Radcliffe — who didn’t so much as offer her his arm! — so she could mumble her way through the nominations for Best Production Design.

Back in 2007, the Academy stopped giving Oscar gift baskets to presenters and performers after the IRS decided the gifts had to be declared as income and taxed appropriately. So even though the gift baskets aren’t ENDORSED by the Academy, they’re still sent to the homes of the losing Oscar nominees, but it’s up to the celebrities to take care of declaring their SWAG. And there are all sorts of things in there, but a lot of it never gets redeemed. Last year, an interior designer offered $10K worth of her services. Only Jessica Chastain took her up on it. In the four years Premier Tours has offered $20K African safaris for two, only Marisa Tomei redeemed hers. This year’s consolation gift basket is valued at over $47K and includes trips to Hawaii, Australia and Mexico, as well as personal training, a weight-loss retreat, gift certificates for plastic surgery, acupuncture and aromatherapy. There’s also a bottle of tequila and some condoms thrown in just in case you enjoy too much tequila, I guess.

No consolation gift baskets for last night’s big winners! Among those, Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor for “Lincoln.” Jennifer Lawrence tripped on the stairs as she went up to accept her Best Actress Oscar for “Silver Linings Playbook.” Supporting Oscars went to Christoph Waltz for “Django Unchained” and Anne Hathaway for “Les Miserables.” Ang Lee won for his direction of “Life of Pi.” And, saying he doesn’t hold any grudges for not being nominated for Best Director, Ben Affleck was happy to accept the Oscar for Best Movie for “Argo,” which he also produced.
