Listen to “Showbiz – Feb 10, 2023” on Spreaker.
The parents and sister of the woman killed on the set of “Rust” have filed a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and others involved with the production, including the armorer, the ammunition supplier, the first assistant director and prop master. Halyna Hutchins was the movie’s cinematographer and she was setting up a camera shot for an upcoming scene when the gun Alec was holding fired and she was struck. Alec still claims he never pulled the trigger. Regardless, Gloria Allred is representing the parents and sister — who all live in the Ukraine and were being supported financially by Halyna. Halyna’s widow already settled his lawsuit with “Rust” producers. Meantime, Alec and the armorer — Hannah Gutierrez-Reed — are scheduled to make their first court appearance by remote on Feb. 24.

Drake has been ordered to be deposed in the XXXTentacion murder trial. Three men are now on trial for the 2018 murder, but their defense attorney argued that authorities had tunnel vision and never considered other possible suspects, including Drake. He and X had an ongoing feud, and apparently during the back-and-forth Drake made a threat, which led X to post on social media, “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi. I’m snitching right now.” While there were internet rumors and conspiracy theories about Drake’s involvement, prosecutors don’t believe he was. The defense attorney said he had Drake subpoenaed last month, but he never showed up in court. Now the judge has ordered Drake to appear for a deposition on Feb. 24 or he’ll have to show up in court for contempt.

Rihanna said she was 3 months postpartum when she got the call about performing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. She said, “I was like, ‘You sure?’ Should I be making major decisions like this right now?” But Rihanna said being a mom made her feel like she could take on the world, and even though she hadn’t been on a stage in seven years, she said yes. After making the decision to go for it, Rihanna said the hardest part was figuring out how to “cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes,” and and ended up having to cut some songs she really wanted to do.

Sources told TMZ that Britney Spears’ inner circle was becoming more and more concerned about her mental health and substance abuse to the point one of their sources said, “I’m afraid she’s gonna die.” The sources an intervention was planned for this past Tuesday. Britney’s manager reportedly rented a house in the LA area and the plan was to take Britney there, where her husband, her manager, an interventionist and doctors were going to attempt to convince her to get help. Britney reportedly figured out something was up, so the intervention was off. But she reportedly did agree to meet with a doctor on Wednesday and it “went well.” Britney addressed the rumors on Instagram. I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well!!!…I’m honestly not surprised at all … Again doing the best I can!!! Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year … No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home!!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room!!! As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read!!! All that love right back at ya!!!” Her husband Sam issued this statement to Access Hollywood’s Mario Lopez: “An intervention did not occur. My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation her health is inappropriate and should end immediately.”
