Alexandra Ship to play Aaliyah…James Garner passes away…”Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” staying strong…North West’s baby body double…and Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo tie the knot!

When Zendaya dropped out of the Lifetime movie about the late Aaliyah because the project felt too rushed and didn’t want to do something halfway, producers — including executive producer Wendy Williams — immediately began the search for her replacement. They’ve found their girl! She is Nickelodeon actress Alexandra Ship, who was featured on “House of Anubis” as well as episodes of “Switched at Birth” and “Awkward.” Unlike Zendaya, Alexandra doesn’t have any problem with the sloppy project.

I read online today that every woman was just a little bit in love with him, and I think that described it perfectly. Yes, I shed a few tears when I found out James Garner passed away yesterday at the age of 86. His acting career took off in the 1950s when he starred in the TV Western “Maverick.” When I was a little girl, I absolutely loved him in “The Rockford Files.” He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in “Murphy’s Romance.” And he broke our hearts as the older version of Ryan Gosling‘s character in “The Notebook.”

After a strong Friday night, “The Purge: Anarchy” was expected to be number one at the box office, but “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” rallied the rest of the weekend to come out on top once again, earning $36 million this weekend. “Purge” was second with $28.3 million. “Planes: Fire & Rescue” debuted in third with $18 million. Neither critics nor audiences loved “Sex Tape,” which debuted in fourth with $15 million. And rounding out the top five was “Transformers: Age of Extinction” with $10 million.

Auditions were held at a specialty agency in LA for a baby who looks just like North West. Kim and Kanye reportedly hired a baby double for their daughter to throw the paparazzi off. If you believe “Grazia” magazine, they’re paying half a million dollars for the baby body double!! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes pulled the same stunt, hiring a Suri body double. It didn’t take the paps long to catch on, though.

It actually happened! Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo were married Saturday in Cabo San Lucas. One of Adam’s bandmates from Maroon 5 played the guitar as the wedding party filled with Victoria’s Secret models came down the aisle and Jonah Hill officiated the ceremony. Guests say he was hysterically funny, but also sweet and sincere. Behati’s father is a minister and he gave a blessing during the ceremony. Behati wore a lace Marchesa gown with spaghetti straps and silk tulle from the knee to the floor. She changed into a long, sexy white dress for the reception. At the reception, Adam got on stage with Stevie Nicks to do a song for the wedding guests. And Behati kept a bet she made with Adam when they first met — that she would sing “Bright Eyes” to him at their wedding reception, and she did! The newlyweds are honeymooning in South Africa.
