One year ago, Barbenheimer ruled the box office. What are we calling the Deadpool & Wolverine/It Ends With Us combo? Did you know that It Ends With Us was originally supposed to open on June 21, but producer Blake Lively most likely had the idea to push it back to Aug. 9 to give her and her husband that Barbenheimer effect. It worked! Deadpool & Wolverine was No. 1 for a third week, taking in another $54.2M. Here at home, it’s closing in on the half a billion dollar mark. But globally, D&W passed the billion dollar mark this weekend, now standing at $1.029B. Depending on who you talked to, It Ends With Us was expected to open anywhere from $23M to $50M, and those guessing $50M got it right. This movie cost only $25M to produce — before marketing costs — so it looks like they’ve done better than breaking even right out the gate.

Jelly Roll has been chosen by ESPN to create the anthem for this year’s college football season. His new single Get By will premiere on Saturday, Aug. 24, and they’re promising it’s “going to have you hyped.” The hook is, “Show up Sunday morning lookin just like last night. Yeah, that’s how I get by.” Get By will be featured throughout the season on ESPN networks and ABC. This collaboration marks the 11th year that ESPN has partnered with artists to create a season anthem. Previous artists include Post Malone and Imagine Dragons.

Catfish host Nev Schulman said he is “lucky to be here” after a horrific bike accident that broke his neck in two places. Over the weekend, he posted details about the accident — which happened last Monday — along with some pretty upsetting photos. Nev explained that he was on his bike heading to pick up his son from school when he collided with a truck. He posted, “I was alone on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious. And then conscious. Maybe I was fine (I wasn’t). Maybe I can still do my long run on Thursday (I couldn’t). I broke my neck. C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are HUMANS. I’m lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery. And I’m really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude. For the big and little things before the accident, and now everything moving forward.” Nev didn’t give any details about the crash itself, maybe for lawsuit reasons….

In a new book Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers, Aaron told the author that Olivia Munn had nothing to do with the issues keeping him from speaking to his family. A few years ago, Ed told the New York Times that Aaron hadn’t spoken to him, his mom or his two brothers, Luke and Jordan, since 2014. That would be the same year Aaron and Olivia began dating, which led many to believe she was the reason for the family rift. In fact, in 2016, a source told Us Weekly that Aaron stopped talking to his family because they didn’t like Olivia. Aaron never confirmed nor denied and he and Olivia broke up the following year. But now, Aaron wants to clear up that misconception. And now a friend of Olivia, who is now Mrs. John Mulaney, told People, “It’s been almost a decade of these ridiculous rumors, and I know she really appreciates Aaron finally shutting it down. The Rodgers family has a lot going on, and she hopes they find some peace.” And according to an excerpt from the new book, things may be thawing between Aaron and his estranged family. Aaron reportedly had a secret meeting with his dad at a golf tournament last year.

After 3 years of dating, it looks like Adele has finally confirmed that she’s engaged to Rich Paul. At her concert in Munich, a fan in the crowd jokingly asked Adele to marry him, and she replied, “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married so I can’t.” She held up her left hand, which was ring-free…but she’s been wearing that massive pear-shaped diamond on and off for well over a year now. So when is Adele freed up to plan a wedding? She’s got six more shows scheduled for Munich, wrapping up there Aug. 31. According to Ticketmaster, Adele is back for her Vegas residency starting Oct. 25, with her last show listed as Nov. 23.
