“The Meredith Vieira Show” will end… Michael Weatherly is leaving “NCIS”… Camille Cosby’s deposition delayed… Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s diet… and Amy Schumer starts 2016 with a new boyfriend
After two seasons, “The Meredith Vieira Show” will end its run in May. She posted a message for her fans: “…We promise to spend our final weeks producing the best broadcast we know how. And have a blast doing so!” Another show coming to the end of the road is HBO’s “Girls.” “The Hollywood Reporter” confirmed it will wrap after its sixth season. The fifth season debuts February 21.
A lot of my Facebook friends are very upset by the news that Michael Weatherly is leaving “NCIS” at the end of the current season. He’s played Tony DiNozzo Jr. since the show debuted 13 years ago. Michael tweeted, “DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character and I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons. Les Moonves and CBS gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. I will miss the amazing crew and cast, who are like family to me, and to the fans all over the world — THANK YOU, it’s been a fantastic ride!” Could this be a ramification from his DUI arrest back in November? In their statement, CBS said they hope to pursue future projects with Michael, but isn’t that just something to say to help somebody save face after they get fired?
A judge has granted Camille Cosby’s request for her deposition to be delayed. The deposition was supposed to happen this morning, but Camille’s lawyers wrote a 12-page motion requesting the delay. It read in part — because who has time to read 12 pages?? — “ Without a stay of her deposition, both Mrs. Cosby’s privacy and freedom will be put at issue in a case to which she is not a party, and for which she is not alleged to have any personal, first-hand knowledge.” Prosecuting attorney Joe Cammarata says he’s confident Camille will be deposed in the near future.
If your New Year’s resolutions include losing weight, you might want to look at the diet followed by Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen for inspiration. Their personal chef has revealed the couple’s diet, which is about 80 percent organic-only vegetables, grass-fed organic meats and fish — especially wild salmon, and whole grains, including quinoa, millet and beans. There is absolutely no white sugar, flour, coffee, dairy, gluten, or iodized salt. Their chef also only cooks with coconut oil and uses Himalayan pink salt. Tom’s diet is a little more restrictive than Gisele’s. He avoids avoids all nightshade vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and eggplants, because they are inflammatory. And when he wants something sweet, he’ll have a smoothie and add a banana.
It’s a new year and new love for Amy Schumer! His name is Ben Hanisch and he’s a 29-year-old furniture designer from Chicago and he’s super cute. On New Year’s Day, he posted a picture of them together in Seattle, captioning it, “Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here’s to what adventures 2016 brings!” Amy even commented on it, “I’m pregnant. I didn’t know how else to tell you.” And then Amy brought Ben with her to the White House yesterday to hear the president’s speech on gun control. She posted a picture of them together with Amy’s brother and sister, captioning it, “Fam and the man at the whitehizzy.”
