Julia Louis-Dreyfus back in production… Pete Davidson & Ariana Grande update… Niall Horan and Hailee Steinfeld share a kiss… Liam Payne has moved on… and Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has died

If you were a big fan of Ryan Phillippe’s show “Shooter,” sorry ‘boutcha! USA Network is canceling it after 3 seasons. But don’t give up hope because it’s being shopped around to different networks. Also canceled is the E! series “The Royals.” This was E!’s first attempt at scripted television and it lasted for four seasons. But again, this one is being shopped around to other networks. E! canceled its other scripted drama “The Arrangement” after two seasons in May. But good news over on HBO! Production on the seventh season of “Veep” was postponed when Julia Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer. But she is back on set and cameras are rolling for what will be the seventh and final season of the series.

Ariana Grande told Jimmy Fallon that she met Pete Davidson a couple years ago when she hosted “Saturday Night Live.” She said she had a huge crush on him and even told her manager that she was going to marry him someday, but the two of them didn’t even exchange phone numbers. Fast forward to this past May when Ariana and Pete reconnected. And that’s when Pete told GQ he knew. He said, “‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow!’” And then he sent her a picture of some engagement rings and asked if she liked any of them. He said, “She was like, ‘Those are my favorite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.’” Pete says they haven’t started planning the wedding yet, but it’s “definitely going to happen, for sure.” But they are living together in a $16 million apartment in NYC. Pete told GQ, “She’s really sweet. She’s like, ‘This is our house,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re very nice for saying that. Thank you for letting me stay here.’”

Niall Horan and Hailee Steinfeld were first rumored to be dating back in February. They were spotted singing and dancing together at the Backstreet Boys show in Vegas. According to sources, Niall was more into Hailee at first, but now it looks like the feelings are VERY mutual. The two of them were seen kissing and snuggling while hanging out in LA yesterday — their first public displays of affection for the paparazzi.

Liam Payne has moved on with an American model named Cairo Dwek. The two of them are vacationing together in Italy just six weeks after Liam and his baby mama Cheryl Tweedy announced they were officially done. Liam was seen flirting with the 20-year-old model while out partying with friends at a nightclub in Cannes. But then just last week, Liam was seen on a date with millionaire heiress Maya Henry, who is only 18. A month before that, Liam and Maya were partying together on a yacht and he even met her family.

Yesterday morning, we got the news that Aretha Franklin had passed away after battling advanced pancreatic cancer. She was 76. A lot of celebrities took to social media to express their love for the Queen of Soul. Among them —

John Legend: “Salute to the Queen. The greatest vocalist I’ve ever known.”

Idina Menzel: “Goodbye Ms. Aretha. You were my idol. The greatest singer of all time. Every note you sang was pure and authentic and pierced our hearts with joy and pain and life.”
