Jennifer Lawrence is engaged… Wendy Williams update… Liam Neeson’s racist comment… Cardi B breaks down her expenses… and Ariana Grande will not be performing at the Grammys
Congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence on her engagement to Cooke Maroney! He’s the director of a fancy art gallery on the Upper East Side of NYC. Back in May 2018, Jennifer and Cooke reportedly were introduced by her best friend Laura Simpson, who you may remember as Jennifer’s date to the Oscars in 2014. Anyway! Jennifer and Cooke hit it off and now they’re fixin’ to get hitched!

Nick Cannon is filling in for Wendy Williams a few days this week. Why is she gone? Is it to deal with her injured shoulder? Her Grave’s Disease? Her husband’s rumored pregnant mistress? We don’t know. But on Monday’s show, Nick says he talked to Wendy over the phone and that she was surrounded by her family and that it’s all love and it’s all good and she can’t wait to come back to the show. But sources say Wendy’s staff is furious because Wendy hasn’t told them squat. Right after it was announced she was taking time off, her husband Kevin came in and basically chewed them all out for leaking stories to the tabloids and threatened them. One source told the Daily Mail, “Many of us have been here since the early days and it’s a complete joke to be kept in the dark like this. How could she be so selfish?” Meantime, word is that the company that produces Wendy’s talk show is looking for a replacement. And another word is that Steve Harvey would be interested because his current situation is ending to make room for Kelly Clarkson’s talk show.

So Liam Neeson. On Monday, this British newspaper published an interview where Liam said that almost 40 years ago, after his friend told him she’d been raped by a black man, he walked around for about a week and a half hoping any random black man would get in his face so he could kill him in retaliation. Then yesterday, he went on “Good Morning America” and told Robin Roberts that he is not a racist. When Robin asked if he would feel the same way if the attacker was white, “Liam said, “If he was Irish, a Scot or Brit or a Lithuanian. I know I would have had the same reaction.” Liam said he went to a priest to confess and started power walking two hours a day to get rid of the anger. Shortly after yesterday’s interview, the red carpet for the premiere of Liam’s new movie “Cold Pursuit” was canceled.

Cardi B is tired of being told how she should spend her money. She posted a Twitter video yesterday — which she later shared and then deleted on her Instagram — that the IRS takes 45 percent of her money so she has to earn a million just to clear $500K. On top of that, she says she spends around $250K-300K every month to take care of her family and make herself look good for her fans. Cardi explained that she’s tried to do things cheaper, but she simply can’t.

If Ariana Grande can’t sing what she wants, she’s not going to sing at all. A source told Variety that Ariana not only pulled out of performing at the Grammys on Sunday, she won’t be in the audience, either. Reportedly, she wanted to perform her new song “7 Rings” but producers said no. They tried to compromise by telling Ariana that she could do a medley featuring “7 Rings” and then a song of their choosing, but that’s when she said to forget the whole thing. Ariana is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Sweetener.”
