Weekend box office news… Brandy knocked out cold on flight… Bill Cosby goes on trial today… Update on Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend?… and Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester was emotional

“Wonder Woman” was the big winner at the box office this weekend, taking in just over $100 million. The movie actually made history, too! Patty Jenkins now has the record for the biggest box office opening weekend ever for a female director. That honor was held previously by “Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her measly $85.1 million opening weekend. Coming in second was the new “Captain Underpants” with $23.5 million. And “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” was third with $21.6 million.

Brandy’s reps say she was simply exhausted, but that pill she took certainly didn’t help. Her reps said Brandy had been traveling a lot lately and was coming off an all-nighter in the recording studio when she had to catch a flight at LAX. But apparently, she felt like she needed a little something to help her make it through the flight, and it knocked her out cold. And when that infamous line was uttered, “Is there a doctor on the plane?” There was! And he happens to be Kim Kardashian’s uncle! He treated Brandy while the pilot taxied back to the gate, where paramedics were waiting to take her to the hospital, where she can get some much-needed rest.

Bill Cosby goes on trial today for the alleged drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand back in 2004. He has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to last two weeks and Bill is not expected to testify. He faces up to ten years in prison if he’s convicted. Bill’s real-life wife Camille and his TV wife Phylicia Rashad are expected to be there to show their support. And Bill’s TV daughter Keshia Knight Pulliam — who played youngest daughter Rudy — is also expected to be there. Keshia reportedly isn’t there to proclaim guilt or innocence, but to hear the truth for herself in the courtroom.

Despite Us Weekly’s confirmation from its very reliable sources, Rob Kardashian says he’s never even met this Mehgan James woman they say is his girlfriend. It turns out that Us Weekly’s very reliable sources were Mehgan and Mehgan’s people, who were looking for a way to get her some press. But Mehgan is still playing dumb, saying she has no idea how the rumor got started after re-tweeting Rob’s denial. But the ruse worked. Mehgan’s Instagram followers doubled in less than a week. Over 800K people are now following a woman who’s never even met Rob Kardashian.

Two weeks ago, a terrorist attack took the lives of 22 people outside Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, England. And last night, Ariana and her friends returned to Manchester for the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert. Ariana actually changed her entire set list after talking to the mother of 15-year-old Olivia Campbell, who died in the attack. Olivia’s mom told Ariana that her daughter would’ve wanted to hear all of her hits, so that’s what she did. Among the other performers last night were Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, who got real emotional during his performance. It was just him and his guitar. He played acoustic versions of “Love Yourself” and “Cold Water” and then told the crowd while choking back tears, “God is good in the midst of the darkness. God is good in the midst of evil. God is in the midst, no matter what is happening in the world. And He loves you, and He’s here for you.” Ariana broke down in tears as she ended the show with “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
