Jury finds Alex Murdaugh guilty… ‘The Thundermans’ is returning… Billie Eilish deleted ALL social media… Travis Scott update… and Avril Lavigne parties with Tyga in Paris

It was the subject of two docuseries, so this qualifies as a showbiz story. After a 27-day trial, it took less than 3 hours for a jury to find SC attorney Alex Murdaugh guilty of murdering his wife and son back in 2021. Alex claimed he wasn’t there when his wife Maggie and their 22-year-old son were shot and killed on their hunting property, but a SnapChat video taken by Paul minutes before he and his mom are believed to have been murdered proved otherwise. What was the motive? Prosecutors argued that Murdaugh was hoping the murders would buy him some time because he was about to be busted for stealing almost $4M from his clients, which Murdaugh claimed he used to support his decades-long drug habit. The sentencing phase of the trial begins this morning. Prosecutors are asking for life without the possibility of parole.

My 10-year-old for one will be very excited about this news. Nickelodeon has given the green light to a movie about The Thundermans, starring the cast from the original series. “The Thundermans” ran for 4 seasons from 2013 to 2018. It’s about a family of superheroes try to live normal lives in the town of Hiddenville. The series focused mainly on the teenage tweens, Max and Phoebe. While Phoebe wanted to use her superhero powers for good, Max dreams of using his superpowers to become the next big supervillain. The new movie will have the youngest Thundermans now enjoying their high school years, and we’ll get some brand new villains. Production starts notes month, but we don’t know a premiere date.

On an upcoming episode of Conan O’Brien’s podcast, Billie Eilish reveals that she’s deleted all social media apps from her phone. When she was a teenager, Billie said she believed everything she read on the internet. But then when she became famous, she started reading all these stories about herself and it really messed with her head. Billie said, “Anything I read on the internet I believe. Me! And I know for a fact that’s stupid and I shouldn’t do that because I have proof that it’s not all true. Almost none of it’s true. It’s, like, little things, like small white lies that goes over everybody’s head, but everyone believes.”

More fallout for Travis Scott after his meltdown at a NYC nightclub earlier this week. Just minutes before he allegedly smacked the club’s sound engineer across the face and caused about $12K worth of damage to some equipment, Travis is accused of grabbing a guy’s phone, throwing it upside his head and cracking the screen. The man told TMZ the club’s manager offered to buy him a bottle for his table, but the man refused. He told TMZ he plans to file a police report and a civil lawsuit. As far as the sound engineer, he spoke to a local news station from the hospital and said he was suffering from neck injuries. Travis has now been named a suspect by the NYPD in an assault and criminal mischief investigation.

The day before she had her rep announce to the world — and to her fiancé Mod Sun — that she was no longer engaged, Avril Lavigne was seen hugging Tyga outside NOBU in LA. Even though they left in the same car, everyone said they were nothing more than friends. But now these “friends” are hanging out together in Paris. Avril and Tyga were both at a party thrown by Leonardo DiCaprio, who’s in Paris for Fashion Week. To add insult to injury, Mod Sun proposed to Avril in Paris last April.
