“The Wiz” is going to be live on NBC December 3, and the network just announced that Queen Latifah has signed on to play The Wiz and Mary J. Blige will play the Wicked Witch of the West. It was previously announced that Stephanie Mills will play Auntie Em. AND the acrobats from Circue Du Soleil are part of the production! So the flying monkeys should be AWESOME. But we’re still waiting to find out who’s going to play Dorothy. NBC says they want a new face for the role.

Demi Lovato went on Twitter yesterday to let her fans know that she and Wilmer Valderrama lost their dog, Buddy, last Sunday. She tweeted, “He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle so with that, together we are staying strong.” Demi didn’t say what happened to Buddy, but she did ask that we respect their privacy as they grieve.

Janet Jackson was in rehearsals for her upcoming Unbreakable World Tour when she got word that her father Joe had suffered a stroke while he was in Sao Paulo celebrating his 87th birthday. She immediately jumped on a private jet to be by her dad’s side. “Entertainment Tonight” is reporting that her tour prep will remain on hold until her father is stable. Janet’s tour is scheduled to kick off in Vancouver on Aug. 31.

Gisele Bundchen thought she had the perfect disguise — a burqa covering her entire body, except for her feet in a cute pair of sassy sandals! But little did she know we’d recognize those sandals and her longtime chauffeur when she tried to sneak into a clinic in Paris for a little plastic surgery. A source told Page Six that Gisele wasn’t happy with her saggy boobs after having two children, and the surgery was a 35th birthday and post-retirement present to herself. It looks like she treated her sister to a little something-something, too, because she was also wrapped up under a burqa to sneak in with Giselle. The next day, the trusted limo driver picked up the women and took them to a spa where they spent five days recovering.

Ben Affleck is denying a story in “Us Weekly” that says he’s dating his children’s former nanny! The magazine claims that during Ben and Jennifer Garner’s trial separation, they hired 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian as a nanny for their three kids. Their sources claim that the minute Jennifer realized something was going on between Ben and Christine, she fired her on the spot! Ben’s rep told Page Six, “The story is complete garbage and full of lies. You shouldn’t be able to hide behind ‘blind sources’ and attempt to destroy families going through a difficult time….It’s shameful and desperate.”
