“Equalizer 3” earned an estimated $42M over the 4-day holiday weekend, making it the second biggest Labor Day weekend opener. “Shang-Chi” still holds that record with $94.6M. “Barbie” is still going strong, earning $13.1M Friday through Monday for a second place finish. Third place goes to “Blue Beetle” with $9.2M, followed by last week’s number-one-with-a-side-eye “Gran Turismo” with $8.56M. And “Oppenheimer” rounds out the top five with $7.5M.

This weekend, fans of “The Nun” can look forward to “The Nun 2.” They’re getting a little jump on the box office by releasing it Thursday afternoon. And if you just can’t wait to see the next “Exorcist” sequel, you can thank Taylor Swift for not having to wait quite as long. “The Exorcist: Believer” was scheduled to open Oct. 13, but when Taylor decided that was the day she wanted to release her “Eras Tour” movie, the demon movie got bumped up a week to Oct. 6. The founder of the indie horror production company Blumhouse tweeted, “Look what you made me do…. #TaylorWins.”

In Netflix news, “The Lincoln Lawyer” got a thumbs up for a third season. Like the previous two, it will have 10 episodes. The next season will be based on the fifth Lincoln Lawyer novel, “The Gods of Guilt.” Neve Campbell had a lesser role in Season 2, but for Season 3, she is, “Peace out.” Her character isn’t part of the fifth book, but sources say she could pop up in future seasons of the series. Netflix has also ordered a second season of the 3-part documentary series “Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal.” Back in March, Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of his wife and son. News of another documentary came the same week it was reported that Alex agreed to plead guilty to federal fraud charges in a separate case that alleges he stole millions of dollars from his law clients.

Thankfully, Kourtney Kardashian is home resting now, but things were really scary there for a minute. On Friday, Blink-182 announced, “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.” Then Travis posted pictures from the prayer room at the Glasgow Airport with a “Together we pray” banner. We later found out that Kourtney had been hospitalized, but no one is saying why. She’s heavily pregnant with a baby boy, but we don’t know the due date. Kourtney was released from the hospital on Saturday and she’s now home with Travis.

All seemed right with the world on Sunday. Joe Jonas posted a picture of him, Kevin and Nick enjoying a beautiful Texas sunset over the Labor Day weekend. But then Monday came. TMZ reported that Joe had his people contact at least 2 divorce attorneys because his 4-year marriage to Sophie Turner is spiraling. Sources say things haven’t been good for the past 6 months. In fact, one source said that for the past 3 months, Joe has been pretty much been the primary caretaker of their two kids, despite being on tour. So far, nobody from either camp is commenting, but Joe was wearing his wedding ring onstage in Austin last night.

A ton of A-list celebrities were at Beyonce’s concert in LA Monday, which happened to be her 42nd birthday. Diana Ross popped up to sing her happy birthday as celebrities including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Lizzo, Normani, Brandy, Chris Rock, Kate Hudson, and Katy Perry (whose real name is Kate Hudson, by the way)….Celebrity couples included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Zendaya and Tom Holland, and KYLIE JENNER AND TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET!! As far as we can tell, these two have been quietly dating since April, but we finally have our first official date sighting!
