Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes debuted in first place this weekend with $56.5M. The movie freaks me out, but 81% of Rotten Tomato’s critics and 79% of its verified audience members loved it. Last week’s number one, The Fall Guy, fell to second with $13.7M. That’s after a less-than-expected $27.7M in its debut weekend. Why isn’t positive word of mouth helping this movie???? Rotten Tomato’s critics gave it 82% positive reviews while 87% of the audience loved it. I’m baffled….Coming in third was Challengers, adding another $4.7M to its box office haul. Fourth place went to Tarot with $3.5M, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire rounded out the top five with $2.5M.

Stuff you can look forward to on your favorite streamers — The 3-part docuseries Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza will premiere May 21 on Paramount+. The docuseries will trace the festival’s 30-year run from its early days as a touring punk event to its current iteration as a massive annual bash at Chicago’s Grant Park. Season 3 of The Bear is back on Hulu starting June 27. If fans of Season 2 felt things going a little off course, Jeremy Allen White has hinted that the series will go back to the structure of Season 1. And Netflix has announced the return of Emily in Paris. Season 4 will be split into two parts, with the first half being released Aug. 15 and the second on Sept. 12.

Scott Stapp and his wife Jaclyn are divorcing after 18 years of marriage. Jaclyn is former Miss New York USA 2004. She and Scott met at an event for Muscular Dystrophy Association. It was love at first sight and those two crazy kids got married in February 2006. Then Jaclyn was able to compete as a married woman! Jaclyn went on to become Mrs. Florida America 2008 and Mrs. World First Runner-Up 2022. But is there a pageant for divorcees? Jaclyn was the first one to file for divorce in June 2022 — maybe it was the stress of being first runner up to Mrs. World. She later withdrew the petition. But now they are moving forward with a divorce after separate filings. They share 3 kids together, 17-year-old daughter Milan, 13-year-old son Daniel and 6-year-old son Anthony. Scott has a 25-year-old son Jagger with his ex-wife, Hillaree.

Nine out of 10 wrongful death lawsuits stemming from the Astroworld tragedy in November 2021 have been settled. One case that was supposed to go to trial last week was settled at the last minute. The only outstanding wrongful death lawsuit comes from the family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, who was critically injured in the crowd surge and died after more than a week in a medically induced coma. Lawyers for both sides are set to meet this week to schedule the trial, unless an out-of-court settlement is reached. After that, Travis Scott and Live Nation still have to deal with approximately 2400 injury lawsuits.

Blake Shelton couldn’t be there to honor Big Al at his Waxahachie Walk of Fame ceremony because he was busy getting an honor of his own! On Friday, Blake was honored at Keep Memory Alive’s 27th Annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas for his philanthropic work. Gwen Stefani performed the night before in the Bahamas, but flew in to support her husband. She bragged on her man, saying, “His heart is as big as his voice,” and went on to list just how big his heart is. Gwen said, “He supports veterans. He supports children’s hospitals, food banks, supports people with disabilities, disaster relief efforts, wildlife conservation or local communities in need, Blake’s generosity is genuine and endless. His dedication to giving back and making a difference and using his platform for good, both publicly and behind the scenes is truly inspiring.” During the live auction, Blake had the winning bid of $40K for a walk-on role in a future Mark Wahlberg movie!
