Obi-Wan Kenobi is coming… Eminem as Mad Max… John Mayer pauses first concert… Kim Kardashian’s Vogue interview… and Bob Saget died from head trauma

Just a few more months and we will finally get to Ewan McGregor’s return to his iconic “Star Wars” character. The limited “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series will debut exclusively on Disney+ on May 25. The story picks up 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith,” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. And yes, Hayden Christensen is back as Darth Vader.

A new book called “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road” comes out on Feb. 22, and it’s filled with a ton of juicy behind-the-scenes stories. The author reveals that a ton of actors were considered for the lead role, including Michael Fassbender, Heath Ledger, and EMINEM! Director George Miller said, “He’d done ‘8 Mile’ and I found that really interesting…We did get in touch with him, though that’s as far as it went because we were going to shoot it in Australia at that point, and he simply didn’t want to leave home. I think he had the impression that if he could do it out of his home state, then he’d be up for it.” So Eminem never actually got to the audition process. But after a long, extensive search, casting was down to Tom Hardy, Armie Hammer, and Jeremy Renner. So how did Tom Hardy land the role? At one point, Tom did a scene with Armie and Tom got REALLY into it, gnashing his teeth and spitting on Armie. That’s when Armie told the director that Tom needed to be Mad Max more than he did.

Artists were probably doing this quite a bit before the Astroworld disaster, but now, we’re hyper aware of how artists handle it when they see an audience member in distress. Just last night, Page Six reported John Mayer stopped his concert at the Hollywood Palladium when he noticed a woman who looked like she had passed out. John was right in the middle of performing “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” when he stopped the music and asked people sitting next to the woman if she was okay. He said, “Give me a thumbs up if they’re alert.” Then he told the audience he was going to step off the stage for a moment as they brought up the houselights. Audience members parted like the Red Sea to allow officials to get to the woman and take her out in a wheelchair. John came back out a few minutes later and said, “Anyone in the crowd who was worried, I’m told she waved goodbye, so she’s OK. The system works, thank you very much.”

Kim Kardashian is on the cover of “Vogue” magazine’s March issue. In the interview, Kim said, “For so long, I did what made other people happy and I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you.” When it comes to co-parenting with Kanye, Kim said, “You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be ‘Your dad’s the best.’ Make sure you are your co-parent’s biggest cheerleader, no matter what you’re personally going through.” Kim also talked about her New Year’s trip to the Bahamas with Pete Davidson. She said, “I was in the Bahamas, and the people I was with said, ‘We’re on vacation. We haven’t been on vacation in a long time.’ And then they threw their phones in the ocean. I was like, ‘What? What? What? Am I allowed to do that?’” Kim stopped short of throwing her phone in the ocean, but she did change her number to alleviate the guilt she feels for not responding quickly to everyone, which she considers rude. Maybe that explains why Kanye freaked out because he couldn’t get ahold of her by phone, so he started calling her out on Instagram. Speaking of Kanye, his girlfriend since New Year’s Eve Julia Fox was on a podcast earlier this week and said she’s sure Kanye still has residual feelings for Kim, which is “normal” and “human,” but she insisted they are still very much together. Yesterday, Kanye posted pictures of Kim and their kids from that “Vogue” article with the caption, “GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER.”

Bob Saget passed away on Jan. 9 in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. He had just performed an incredible 2-hour standup set the night before and posted what a wonderful time he had doing what he loved. Initially, authorities thought he may have died from a heart attack or stroke. Now they’ve determined that the official cause of death, and it was totally unexpected. In a statement issued by Bob’s family, they said, “The authorities have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
