ABC canceled shows… Steve Harvey’s memo… Kelly Clarkson’s big announcement… Will Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon get back together?… and Bow Wow says there’s a ‘scientific’ reason for faking
ABC canceled a mess of shows yesterday. It’s the end of the road for The Real O’Neals, American Crime, Dr. Ken, Secrets & Lies, Imaginary Mary, Last Man Standing and The Catch. Yep, Shonda Rimes finally had a show that didn’t work. But good news for her other shows, Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder and Scandal — they’re all coming back. But next season will be the last for Scandal. Also being renewed are American Housewife, The Goldbergs and Modern Family. Over on Fox, they’ve pulled the plug on Son of Zorn, APB and Making History. And NBC announced they’re done with Powerless.
Steve Harvey sent a memo to his employees earlier this year basically telling them all to back off. Among other things, Steve wanted them to stop ambushing him in the hallway and to knock before entering his dressing room or face being physically removed. That memo was made public yesterday, probably by one of the employees who was fired and then uninvited to the season wrap party on a yacht. But Steve isn’t apologizing for the memo, although he does admit he could’ve handled it better. But he told ET’s Kevin Frazier that enough was enough. He said,“I could not find a way to walk from the stage to my dressing room, to sit in my makeup chair, to walk from my dressing room to the stage or to just sit and have lunch without somebody just walking in. I’ve always had a policy where, you know, you can come and talk to me — so many people are great around here, but some of them just started taking advantage of it.”
It was rumored yesterday that Kelly Clarkson was clearing her schedule so she’s be available to do the new, revamped version of American Idol. But hold up! She shocked us all yesterday when she went Facebook Live with Blake Shelton to announce that she’s actually going to join The Voice as a coach season after next! Yesterday we also found out that former Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson is joining The Voice as a coach next season, alongside Blake, Adam Levine, and Miley Cyrus.
RadarOnline.com is reporting that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are going to give their relationship one more try. A source says, “Obviously, the kids want nothing more than their parents to get back together. They definitely still love each other and Mariah is realizing that maybe no man on the planet will tolerate her like Nick will.” The source says Mariah even told Nick that he’s the reason she actually left her boy toy backup dancer Bryan Tanaka.
Earlier this week, Bow Wow posted a picture on Instagram of a private jet and captioned it, “Travel day. NYC press run for Growing Up Hip Hop. Lets gooo. I promise to bring yall the hottest show EVER. May 25th on @wetv.” Then an observant fellow passenger on a commercial flight noticed Bow Wow was sitting across the aisle from him when he posted that and the jig was up. Rather than laugh at himself, Bow Wow says we just don’t get it. He told a NYC morning show, “I love it because people don’t understand the scientific method to my madness. Number one, I’m about to have the biggest show on We TV, period. Period. I’m saying that right now.” He said everything he’s doing is for the show and we have to watch to figure it all out. As far as people mocking him with the #BowWowChallenge, he said, “It doesn’t affect me, it doesn’t affect the women, it doesn’t affect the bank, it doesn’t affect anything. I feel like people who react to certain things, I feel like that’s how they would react if it was on them.” Huh?
