Box office weekend news… Streamy Awards 2023… Kanye West has a new album on the way… Cancelled gigs… and Bradley Cooper & Irina Shayk vacationing together

Warner Bros. is not real happy with the way the weekend box office played out, and they have a point. The dust hasn’t settled after National Cinema Day yesterday, which featured $4 movies at 30K theaters across the country. But as of right now, “Gran Turismo” is clinging to No. 1 with $17.3M, followed by “Barbie” with $17.1M. But here’s the thing…So, “Gran Turismo” was originally set to open on Aug. 11, but Sony studio decided to delay it because of the actor’s strike. What they decided to do was host some fan screenings and a couple weekends of sneak screenings to build the buzz around the movie before officially releasing it this past Friday. But what those sneaky suckers did was take the box office totals from the early screenings and add them to this weekend’s totals, which gave them just enough to declare themselves the No. 1 movie in the US. That doesn’t sit right with Warner Bros., who wanted to see “Barbie” back on top for a fifth week. At the end of the day, they may get their wish. Coming in third for sure was last weekend’s No. 1 “Blue Beetle” with $$12.8M.

Columbia Pictures’ Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story opened to a weekend total of $17.3 million at the domestic box office. Content creators spend a lot of time coming up with those videos that suck you in and keep you watching till 3am, and they should be awarded for it. That’s why the Streamy Awards were created, recognizing excellence in online videos. Believe it or not, the 13th annual Streamy Awards were held last night. I accidentally stumbled across it on my laptop to see “Challenge Accepted” win Show of the Year. It beat out 9 other shows including “Hot Ones,” “Sam and Colby” and “Chicken Shop Date.” MrBeast beat out fellow content creators including Alix Earle, Charli D’Amelio and Logan Paul to win Creator of the Year. Meghan Trainor showed up to pick up her Streamy as her song “Made You Look” won Sound of the Year, which recognizes the most impactful song that dominated content creation on social media and resonated across popular culture. The Jonas Brothers did NOT show up to pick up their Streamy for Crossover, which honors public figure who embrace digital culture.

Kanye West has been doing more than just walking around Italy barefoot while his pseudo wife Bianca Censori wears bodysuits so sheer that you have to wonder why she even bothers wearing anything. But sources say Kanye has spent all summer working on new music, and his new album could be dropping as early as October. This will be his first studio album since “Donda” was released in 2021. A source told The Mirror that Bianca’s authenticity has played an integral part in Kanye’s comeback. One PR expert says, “In Hollywood, we’re very used to famous people saying they’re camera shy and very private, when in fact they’re the opposite but, with Kanye’s new wife, this does seem authentic.” How walking around nearly naked equates to shyness confuses me, but I’m not a PR expert….

Birthday girl Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine posted yesterday, “I’m so sorry that I had to cancel the last couple of shows. My feet are fine, I had to have emergency surgery for reasons I don’t really feel strong enough to go into yet, but it saved my life.” Florence said she’ll be back to close out their Dance Fever tour in Lisbon and Malaga, but “maybe not jumping so much.” Then she added a mysterious, “Suffice to say I wish the songs were less accurate in their predictions…” What lyrics predicted this?? Florence ended her statement with a drop of red blood emoji. If you recall, Florence broke her foot while performing in London last fall, and kept on dancing throughout the show, which was NOT good. She even posted a photo of the stage floor with drops of blood spattered around. But apparently whatever is going on now has nothing to do with her foot injury. Liam Payne also announced he has to postpone his South American tour due to a serious kidney infection that put him in the hospital. But he says he has the best people around him while he’s home recovering, and they’re working on getting these dates rescheduled.

Exes Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper share a 6-year-old daughter and they are on very good terms, so much so, they seem to be vacationing together. In photos they each posted over the weekend, they seem to be enjoying the same beach. Bradley posted a thirst trap selfie reclining shirtless in the sand. Irina climbed some rocks and posted topless selfies wearing nothing but bikini bottoms, crew socks and tennis shoes — weird look, but okay. Was Bradley her photographer or did she use a timer? Unclear. Regardless, it was just two weeks ago Irina was holed up for 48 hours in a 5-star London hotel room with Tom Brady. We haven’t seen them together since, but would YOU be vacationing topless with your ex if you were in the beginning stages of a new love affair? Back in July, a source told Page Six that Bradley wasn’t bothered by Irina’s budding relationship with Tom, thinking it would probably be her in two or three weeks. Maybe Bradley was right…..
