L.A. County Dept. of Health responds… Daniel Craig shoots THIS down… Morgan Wallen pledged $500K… Christina Haack is engaged… and Britney Spears back on Instagram
Listen to “Showbiz – Sep 21, 2021” on Spreaker.
It’s not too surprising that celebrities who preach wearing masks while socially distancing are being called hypocrites for showing up maskless and sitting elbow-to-elbow for the Emmys. But the LA County Department of Health has responded to the criticism. While the current mandate in LA requires everyone to wear a mask indoors — whether they’re vaccinated or not — exceptions are made for film, TV and music productions. The county says the Emmy Awards qualified as a TV production, and all the people who appeared on the show were considered performers. Therefore, masks were not required for attendees. Furthermore, they say everyone at the Emmys had to be fully vaccinated and show proof of a negative Covid test.

Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond movie, “No Time to Die,” hits theaters in two weeks. Who will be the next 007? The question remains unanswered. But after seven white guys in that role, a lot of people are hoping for a bit of diversity next go ‘round. Rege-Jean Page and Idris Elba are two of the biggest names being tossed around. In a new interview, Daniel Craig was asked if he thinks a woman should be the next 007. He said no. Daniel explained, “There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?” We will, however, be introduced to the first female 00 agent in “No Time To Die.”

Earlier this year, country musician Morgan Wallen was caught on camera saying the n-word several times while he was drunk with his friends outside his home. His career took a hit and he went into hiding for a few months. Morgan then showed up on “Good Morning America” and claimed he donated $500K to black music organizations, naming the Black Music Action Coalition as one of them. “Rolling Stone” decided to check that out. The MBAC told the magazine they did, in fact, receive a check for $165K back in April, but that’s it. “Rolling Stone” then reached out to “56 other state, regional, and national Black-led or Black-founded charities” and none of them reported getting a check from Morgan. His record label saw the article and reached out. The CEO of Big Loud said THEY’re the ones who donated the $500K, of which $100K “was earmarked and promised for further donations by year-end locally.” The CEO also claimed Big Loud’s donations included $300K “to BMAC and Other Black Leaders’ organizations of choice,” but BMAC says they never got anything other than that $165K check. Confusing much?

Third time’s the charm? HGTV “Flip or Flop” star Christina Haack, formerly known as Christina El Moussa and then Christina Anstead, announced that she’s engaged again. Based on the photos she posted, it looks like Austin realtor Joshua Hall popped the question during a romantic meal on a beach in Cabo, Mexico. No word on how long they have been together, but a source said back in July that the two of them had been dating for “a few months.” Christina has only been single for a hot minute. She married Ant Antstead in December 2018, dumped him in September 2020, and their divorce was finalized in June. Ant was devastated, but he recovered beautifully and has since moved on with Renee Zellweger. But both of Christina’s ex-husbands found out about Christina’s engagement just like we all did – on her social media.

Last week, Britney Spears shut down her Instagram, which caused a lot of her fans to freak out. But she reassured us that it wall all okay, tweeting that it was her idea. She just wanted to take a break and enjoy her new engagement to Sam Asghari. Seven days was enough and Britney’s back. Or is she? Britney’s Instagram always keeps us guessing. When she turned everything back on, all of her old posts were still there along with a new one — two identical photos, one in color and one in black and white. She captioned it, “Some shots from my weekend getaway to celebrate my engagement with my … holy shit … FIANCÉ … I still can’t believe it !!!! I couldn’t stay away from the gram too long so I’m back already 💍😂🤷🏼♀️🤣 !!!! Psss I took these in Palm Springs with clip in extensions 💁🏼♀️😉🌹!!!!!” The picture she posted was a pose Britney likes to put on repeat — a come-hither look with an off-the-shoulder top and a choker. In fact, some people believe this was NOT a photo from last week in Palm Springs, but a photo from a session she posted earlier this year. If you scroll way back in her feed, you’ll see Britney doing the same pose, same look, but different top….until February 8. So was this a recent photo and she just wore the same top again? Or is someone else posting as Britney?
