A couple weeks ago I told you about a piece of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding cake going up for auction. They were married on July 29, 1981, so this thing was 40 years old! There were actually 23 wedding cakes baked for the Royal Wedding reception. This piece was given to an employee of the Queen Mother, who held onto it for a couple decades before her family sold it to a collector in 2008 for $2000. And after being put on the auction block again, the 1.8 lb. slice of marzipan cake covered with white icing and featuring a sugared Royal Coat of Arms and a small silver horseshoe was expected to go for somewhere between $300-$400. It sold for $2562. Apparently, this is a THING in England. Back in 2013, a 2-year-old slice of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding cake sold for $4160.
The deal was a piece of cake.

Jake Paul has been under investigation since last May, after he was caught roaming around a closed mall in Scottsdale, Arizona that was being looted after the death of George Floyd. Jake posted a vlog from the mall and was charged with trespassing and unlawful assembly. The Scottsdale City attorney didn’t pursue the case, but handed it off to federal authorities. As part of their investigation, federal agents raided Jake’s home in Calabasas and found all these weapons. But after all these months, word has come down now that the feds aren’t charging Jake with anything.

Chrissy Teigen announced yesterday that her third cookbook — Cravings Cookbook 3: All Together — is now available for pre-order. It comes out on Oct. 12. In making the announcement, Chrissy said, “It is incredibly hard to put into words what this book means to me. How do you come up with a funny, enticing caption for a book that quite literally saved you.” Chrissy has had an extremely tough year. Back in November, she lost her baby boy Jack when she was 20 weeks pregnant. She is dedicating this cookbook to him. And then in May, all hell broke loose when Courtney Stodden revealed that Chrissy took bullying to the next level with her and Chrissy was canceled. In her announcement, Chrissy said, “I didn’t have a theme in mind when we made this book – all I knew was I wanted a bright new energy, but I also needed comfort.” So this book is filled with all the recipes that give her family comfort — like “John’s thick a** blueberry pancakes – the ones we make every Sunday morning without fail, sticky orange glazed fried chicken sandwiches, luna’s unicorn milkshakes, and salty white chocolate chunk cookies so addictive you might as well double the batch.”

Kelly Clarkson was on set of “The Voice” when the news came down. A judge has fully upheld her prenup with Brandon Blackstock and she was so excited, she reportedly let out a scream. Brandon had been fighting their agreement, wanting to split the properties they’d accumulated during their marriage as well as the money she earned. But the judge said, “Nope!” And now that this is out of the way, Kelly is days away from having her divorce finalized. She’s been awarded primary custody of their two kids, and she will likely pay Brandon $50K per month in child support. But we found out she earns $1.5M per month, so she can handle it. She’s also got to write a check for Brandon’s legal fees, which will probably total about a month’s salary for her. It stinks, but it is what it is. And Kelly has also asked the judge to legally restore her maiden name.

The big news yesterday was that Jamie Spears has agreed to step down as Britney’s conservator of her finances….eventually. In his filing, Jamie said he didn’t do anything wrong. In fact, he claims he saved his daughter’s life AND her money. But in the court filing, Jamie’s lawyer stated, “Nevertheless, even as Mr. Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests. So, even though he must contest this unjustified Petition for his removal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.” The filing went on to say, “Regardless of his formal title, Mr. Spears will always be Ms. Spears’ father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests.” Britney’s attorney wasn’t happy with some of the jabs Jamie took in his filing, but said, “This is a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice.” He also said, “We look forward to continuing our vigorous investigation into the conduct of Mr. Spears, and others, over the past 13 years, while he reaped millions of dollars from his daughter’s estate, and I look forward to taking Mr. Spears’s sworn deposition in the near future.”
