“Space Jam: A New Legacy” had the strength to knock “Black Widow” out of the top spot at the box office, earning $31.7M in its opening weekend. “Black Widow” came in second with $26.3M. “Space Jam” was expected to earn about $20M, so even though it has a ways to go before it recoups the $150M it took to make this thing, it far exceeded expectations. So! Will there be an “Space Jam 3”? Director Malcolm D. Lee said, “Never say never.” But if they did, he said maybe they could take it in a new direction. Malcolm thinks Dwayne Johnson would be an interesting choice and they could have him going back to wrestling. I LOVE that idea!

In streaming news, Season 2 of “Bridgerton” has been shut down for a second time after two people on set tested positive for COVID. Everyone is isolating until they get the all clear to start filming again. It’s been 20 years since Robert Downey Jr. has been on the small screen. His last TV role was playing Ally McBeal’s love interest in 2001. But his drug problem got him fired after only one season. But now, a sober Robert will star in HBO’s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Sympathizer. The story follows a spy secretly living in exile in the US at the end of the Vietnam War. According to a press release, Robert will play multiple supporting roles as various antagonists, including “an up-and-coming Orange County congressman, a CIA agent, and a Hollywood film director, among others.” They’re still casting for the lead role. And the number of “Game of Thrones” spinoffs is getting really confusing. So far, there’s only been one confirmed spinoff, “House of the Dragon.” They’re filming it now and it’s set to air next year. A source says there’s also an animated spinoff in the works at HBO Max that will be set in a territory the original series never explored — the Golden Empire of Yi Ti, which is considered one of the oldest and most advanced societies in the novels and is inspired by Imperial China. There are also two other live action spinoffs in the works, however, the “Flea Bottom” spinoff has been scrapped by HBO. This would have documented life in the King’s Landing slum.

A few weeks ago, Kim announced she is shutting down her KKW Beauty brand to relaunch under a new name and look. She filed to trademark the rights to “SKKN.” The website SKKN.com and @SKKN social media handles were all locked down by Kim’s team in December. Sources say that Kanye is actually helping with the rebranding. And while there were rumors last week that Kanye’s relationship with Irina Shayk was cooling off after she refused to go on an overseas trip with him, sources say they are still very much together. Apparently, Kanye never even invited her since it was just going to be a quick business trip. But does Kim have a new man? Some fans think so because of the caption on her latest post. She used all the cuss words to call out her family, saying that as long as her dad is in charge, she refuses to perform. In her post she said, “For those of you who choose to criticize my dancing videos … look I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think 🚫🙅🏼♀️ 🚫!!!!
