Renée Zellweger is dating Ant Anstead… Lily Collins to Play Polly Pocket… Get ready for #DraggingTheClassics… Rihanna covered her shark tattoo… and Britney Spears returns to Instagram following court hearingListen to “Showbiz – June 25, 2021” on Spreaker.
I was really happy to read this on Page Six. Renée Zellweger is reportedly dating Ant Antstead. Why do I care? Because Ant Antstead was married to Christina Haack from “Flip or Flop” — she went back to her maiden name after she left Ant. And apparently, Ant was completely blindsided and devastated when Christina left him. Nobody’s ever given any details, but I just know how hard this hit him. Anyway, Ant has an upcoming series on Discovery+ called “Celebrity IOU Joyride” and Renée appears on one of the episodes. But according to TMZ, their romance didn’t blossom until after Renée had finished filming her segment and then returned some time later to drop off work boots.
Remember Polly Pockets? They were teeny-tiny dolls that were popular in the 90s and they were tiny enough to fit in your pocket, thus the name. Well, Polly Pocket herself is being made into a live action movie. It’s being written and directed by Lena Dunham and Lily Collins has been cast as Polly Pocket! Which makes total sense because I’m sure Lily has been told more times than she can count that she’s tiny enough to fit into a pocket. The story will be about a young girl and a pocket-sized woman who form a friendship. Mattel will be bringing more classic toys to life on the big screen, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Barney, along with an already-confirmed Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots movie starring Vin Diesel.
This is going to be wild, weird and FABULOUS. If you haven’t ordered Paramount+, get it done ASAP because on June 30 they’re gifting us with “Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch.” They are recreating an episode from “The Brady Bunch” featuring several alumni from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The episode they’re re-doing is “Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?” from the show’s second season. This is the episode where Jan receives an invitation to a birthday party that’s accidentally addressed to Marcia. Jan decides that the only way she can stand out from her other two blonde sisters is to buy a short, brown, curly-haired wig. Remember that?? This is a lot, so hang on…..From the original “Brady Bunch,” Christopher Knight is back as Peter and Mike Lookinland is back as Bobby. But Barry Williams — who played Greg — will now play the dad, Mike Brady. Eve Plumb is giving up the role of Jan to play Lucy, the birthday girl, and Susan Olsen — who played Cindy back in the day — will now play Margie, the girl at the party who has a massive crush on Peter. The rest of the roles will all be played by “Drag Race” stars! Bianca Del Rio will play the mom, Carol Brady. Shea Coulée will play Marcia. Jan will be played by Kylie Sonique Love, and Kandy Muse will play Cindy. As far as Greg Brady, BenDeLaCreme will perform that role out of drag. Who will play Alice? That would be Nina West. And yes, RuPaul makes an appearance as the person who sells Jan her wig.
Get ready for #DraggingTheClassics: The Brady Bunch! Rihanna has been dating A$AP Rocky for about a year and a half now and they were photographed on a date in NYC this week. But fans noticed that Rihanna has not only gotten a new tattoo, she got one to cover up the matching tattoo she had with Drake! Back in 2016 when they were dating for a very hot minute, RiRi and Drake got matching shark tattoos. Hers was near her ankle, his was on his arm. Rihanna has now covered up her shark with a crown.
After telling the court on Wednesday that she wants to be freed from the chains of her conservatorship, Britney went back on Instagram to let us all know what she’s thinking. Her message said, in part, “…I don’t want people to think my life is perfect because IT’S DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL … and if you have read anything about me in the news this week … you obviously really know now it’s not !!!! I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years … I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture their Instagram in a fun light !!!! Believe it or not pretending that I’m ok has actually helped … I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence … existence … and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked …” So what now? California-based family law attorney Christoper C. Melcher — who is not involved in Britney’s case — told Yahoo Entertainment that Wednesday’s hearing “was only a status conference to hear Britney’s statement to the court.” Despite asking for her conservatorship to end, nothing is changing for now. He said, “The next step is for Britney to file a petition to terminate the conservatorship. Britney’s court-appointed attorney may not be on board with that approach, but can be directed to file the petition. But the wheels of justice turn slowly. If Britney files a petition to end the conservatorship, it will take months to resolve. It could drag on to next year.” And while Britney asked for the conservatorship to end without another evaluation of her mental health, Melcher said the court will still want one, however they can’t force her to do it. If she refuses? Melcher said, “The court can consider that in ruling on whether to terminate the conservatorship.” But Melcher said even if Britney agrees to be evaluated and the person conducting the evaluation concludes she still needs to be under the conservatorship, the judge doesn’t have to accept that opinion. He said, “The court can terminate the conservatorship on Britney’s testimony and the other evidence it receives. It should be obvious to the court whether a person needs a conservatorship, so the court might be persuaded by Britney’s testimony that one is no longer needed.” In the meantime, the next hearing on Britney’s conservatorship is set for July 14. This one will cover accounting, the official appointment of Jodi Montgomery as conservator of her person and a petition.
